go for a " redneck Katyusha"   get a set of SNEB launchers and have them on some angle iron with a couple of wooden wedges and a sledge hammer to set the angle for range.
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Oh I did look at the prerelease price ..sitting at £39.90...so when it and if it gets here ..probably $150

I keep going back to a wrecker version of this...big multi state Palfinger hydraulic crane.

Rick mate you'd have a hard job getting a Landrover 90 in the back of a Stolly with a crane in the back..I think they could only carry 4 pellets in the back of one and there is no tail gate 😉

Ah well, haul it hanging over a load of something else in the bed, then...  ;D

Well what I'm thinking is a heavy lift variant..with outriggers ...since the Stolly is a amphibian why not a amphibious engineers version with a crane which can lift alot more than a pellet of ammo .

I'd just put the steering wheel on the Right and let the back story do the rest.

I'm pretty sure this is a tail gate and the sides lower.  It looks like there are hinges at the bottom of the panels.  I can find zero photos of them lowered though.

<edit>  If you look here it says "The load deck is open-topped with large drop down panels on either side.  Waterproof seals ensured that these would not leak when in the water."

The operative word there is 'should'...................

Sometimes they did and sometimes they didn't. I sure hope Alvis got it sorted by the time they got them in full production for the Army!

My AA Stollie kit comes with a crane just behind the cab, but it was the RA version, the only one they had in stock when I bought it.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Excellent.  Good job Brian.

Does it explain what the small separate section behind the tailgate is for?  My assumption is that it allows the tailgate to be lowered when in the water without flooding the load bay.

Quote from: Wardukw on February 25, 2025, 10:04:43 AMKinda thinking maybe a SPG but the Stolly is just wrong I'm so many ways ..the deck alone is like 6ft of the ground...it would be extremely unstable as it's not very wide and would be very top heavy

Whenever has that stopped the British Army or more likely those in charge of procurement ?  :-\
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
