Quote from: Gondor on March 01, 2025, 08:11:32 AMReceived today and also collected

1 x 1/48 eduard 8111 Albatros D.Va Profipack. To be modelled as D4545/17 eventualy.

1 x 1/72 HobbyBoss 87238 Royal Navy "Super Lynx". Just looking through the kit and the instructions I can tell that the kit has an identity crisis. The decals and painting instructions are not the same as the box, and although the markings match the painting guide, the weapon options do not match what is in the box

Get the feeling somebody's make a cockup here Al..a bit of crossed communication somewhere it would seem.

It may seem like that, but the weapons supplied in the kit don't match the box top either

It's the same with their UH-1B and i suspect that it's normal with their cheaper helicopter kits.

But if you like the Huey and want multiple different examples, again there's no downside... ;)
Not that I have them, but having perused the boxings.
Then again, there's a lively aftermarket for Nam Hueys, so you're easily sorted.

Nothing wrong with lots of Hueys...
I've only built the HobbyBoss 1/72 UH-1B but i still have the Italeri 1/72 UH-1D, Bell 212 and 412 and the 1/48 AMT/Ertl UH-1D, Italeri UH-1N and Kitty Hawk UH-1Y in the stash.

Mine are about 3 different boxings of the ESCI -D and Italeri -B and -C.
Plus an ESCI -D that I converted into a -C before the kits came out.

I really should get back to them one day... maybe after another reading of Chickenhawk, or rewatching Platoon to inspire me.

The Revell Su-27 and MiG-31 bear only a passing resemblance to the aircraft they are supposed to be, which makes them perfect whiff fodder.

At my club meeting last night there was a raffle and I ended up with a P-51 Mustang kit by Eduard. It's the so called weekend edition so no photo etch which is fine by me.

In a turn up for me... I bought a kit  .. well two kits

AFV Club Remote Weapons station.
Have to love the single sprue for the basis of the Weapons station and two sprues from the AFV Club Stryker for around 12 other small bits like smoke launchers that need to go on it. So lots of left over bits.

AFV Club Dieppe Churchill
Standard Mk III Kit with the wading trunks and heavy track.
Got enthusiastic after reading this excellent bit of research on what each tank and vehicle actually did during the raid
https://mikesresearch.com/2021/11/28/dieppe-france-1942/

I have a feeling I need to do an Oke Flame tank, I have a spare Mk 1 turret ex IMA.

The M706 Commando will be my first military ground vehicle build and it will be the basis for conversion into the real world Portuguese Bravia Chaimite V-200 APC. This will be built and given to my dad because he drove these when he was in the army.
The DEF models resin wheels were bought cause i'll need five of them for my Chaimite build so, i'll use the resin ones on the axles and one of the kit's wheels for the spare wheel usually carried on the front.
Peddinghaus decals resin 1/72 WWII US pilots... compared to Italeri's 1/72 pilots, these look more like 1/65 or similar. They're too big for the RS 1/72 P-51H cockpit so i'll be using the Italeri figure that i've modified.
The L'arsenal 1/72 Corail Chaff/Flare dispensers for one of my Special Hobby Mirage F.1 kits and the PJ production 1/48 F-35 pilot, sadly this is probably my last purchase of this brand's products as they've shut down the company last year. :-\

Will you be able to see them Alastair? Perhaps you'll cut the door out and leave it open?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
