Good idea Trevor, I'll do that.

While in the mood, I took the opportunity to add two more Drakens to the StashTM.

You cannot view this attachment.

The Hasegawa Draken is THE Draken kit from an accuracy point of view, and there are conversion and detailing sets available to create almost any Draken that ever flew, starting from this basic F-model Draken.
However, these kits have become quite expensive, a "single" Draken setting you back at least £40 these days, so getting this kit, containing plastic for two complete aircraft for less than £35 is something causing me to be quite chuffed indeed.

Right. Back to the old and woefully inadequate Revells. They might be bad, but it's still good fun building them.

Won on eBay two 1/24 Revell Jaguars;
XKSS with no decals and part 87 missing.
E-Type Coupe with paints, hairy brush and glue

Rick Lowe

Those Hasegawa twin boxings were pretty good value - well, better than the individual ones, anyway.

Spousal health issues getting you down?

Buy models from BNA...

Second Twotter for the stash.  Mainly for the floats and skis but also because saying "twotter" makes me smile.

And this repop of an old Supermodel mould.  Which now i've seen it in the flesh strikes me as being an ideal candidate for a Sky Pirate.

Also a set of transfers for Il-2s.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Nice kits!

Lucky they're not in 1/48, or I'd be tempted to add to my already ridiculous amount of purchasing this year.  ;D

The Z.501 looks like a Catalina had a baby with a Walrus, to me. ;)

That old Supermodel Z.501 was a decent kit for its time   Mind you looking at the box art and seeing where what I presume is a bomb is hung you could have fun taking off and landing in even moderate swell

I've built a few Supermodel kits.  None of them were particularly bad.  Just of their time.
I do like their stands.  Moulded in clear with the fab company logo loud and proud.

I think that's something we need to remember with some of these older kits

The Rat

Dropped in to a shop on my way down to Heritagecon, went through their estate sale shelf and picked up:

Advent/Revell 1/72nd Boeing P-26, no specific plans yet.

Heller 1/72nd Curtiss H.75 A3, might get the Spanish civil war treatment.

Frog 1/72nd Sea Venom F.A.W. Mk.21/53, possibly for the bad idea GB.

Planet Models 1/72nd General Aircraft GAL-41, resin. No plans yet, but those little Pobjoy Niagara engines look a bit anemic.

Got another Hasegawa Draken off Evilbay, but this time a single model issue. Not quite as much of a bargain as the twin boxing above, but still about a third cheaper than if bought at a shop.
Writing up the RSwAF Draken backstory, I find myself adding references to export deals, so I'll be needing the odd Draken or two going ahead, it seems..

Interestingly, I was also watching an Airfix Draken being sold for nigh on what I paid for the Hasegawa one. Amazing, as the Airfix kit is rather bad, actually. Also, it wasn't any old boxing or anything, but a rather recent one. Strange.

I think with EBay you sometimes get situations where some people cannot be beat at literaly any price. Ego comes into it and those behind EBay know that full well  :banghead:  Either that or someone is stocking up on Airfix kits so that when the supply of Hasegawa ones dries up he can sell them to you at a profit  ;)
