Quote from: frank2056 on March 19, 2025, 07:58:35 PMI also fear that Chris will throw "The Book" at me when he reads the backstory...

The Book makes special allowances when faced with such a superb build  ;)  ;D

Quite right too!   A model and story like this are far too good for the book

Magic stuff.

They must have scrapped it because I went to the Proving Grounds in the 1990s sometime and there was no sign of it there then.

Mind you, it's a BIG place!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Army probably sent it to either Ft Barfoot (formerly Ft Pickett) or Ft Walker (formerly Ft AP Hill) as a range target.

It could have rolled into the creek or into the sound...

I like this one because I re-positioned the tank and figure and it looks like one of the outrigger wheels is falling off the base. I didn't notice it until I processed the image. The tank is actually balanced on a small pebble, which illustrates the problem with this idea:

Front:

Rear. I forgot to add dust/dirt to the gun side hatch:

Left/driver's side:

Right/gun side:

Thanks for all the comments and encouragement!  This was a fun build.

buzzbomb

Really nice work throughout.

kerick

That a great build! I loved seeing it come together.
Now I have some crazy ideas in my head. I wish I knew about radio control hardware as one of these needs to be rolling around town!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That's very good.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

A very good model and story!
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Four of those would make great wheels for a dieselpunk all terrain armoured attack vehicle.

All capable of autonomous operation.
The main body becoming a temporary
