So for those who don't know, this idea of me taking part in a Group Build is probably a Bad Idea in the first place as I usually end up with another part finished build to sit on the shelf.

This build will depict a Bf 110 as used in the 1969 film "The Battle of Britain". The film required a large number of period aircraft. In September 1965 producers Harry Saltzman and S. Benjamin Fisz contacted former RAF Bomber Command Group Captain T.G. 'Hamish' Mahaddie to find the aircraft and arrange their use. Eventually 100 aircraft were employed, called the "35th largest air force in the world". With Mahaddie's help, the producers located 109 Spitfires in the UK, of which 27 were available although only 12 could be made flyable. Mahaddie negotiated the use of six Hawker Hurricanes, of which three were flying. The film helped preserve these aircraft, including a rare Spitfire Mk II which had been a gate guardian at RAF Colerne in Wiltshire.

The Bf 110 which did take part in the Battle was one of the aircraft that was not available in any form for the film. This meant that a certain amount of "artistic licence" was required to "produce" a Bf 110, and this build will emulate the work that was undertaken.

Sounds like a Plan!

Will you be starting with a Mosquito kit?
This has potential. How about a movie prop group build?

There were the AT-6s made up to look like Zeros. I think a T-55 or some such made to look like a Tiger tank for the movie Kelly's Hero's. I'm sure there are many more.

Kelly's heros Tiger was a T34 bud ..you can tell by the tracks ..it's the easiest way to identify it  ;D
The AT-6s looked great as Zeros ...I was totally impressed and fooled when I first saw Tora,Tora,Tora 👀 😄

This build has me very interested 👌
Really have no idea what this is going to look like 🤔 🙃
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Band of Brothers had Jagdpanthers based on T-55s, there were also one or two others based on FV-432s.

Something along the lines of the three "Proctukas"?
Percival Proctors modified to look like a Stuka, sort of that is.
;D

They ended up using flying models in
the film.

Rick the FV 432s were turned into Stug 3s and man did they do a excellent job on those ...from a distance you couldnt tell the difference if they hid the suspension ...always a dead give away that is  ;D

Thats a pretty good attempt really ,,if not for the fact about the size differences ,,on film that wouldnt hae mattered to much tho ....the models would have the right proportions tho which would look instantly better .

Agree, that Proctor/Stuka is not a bad attempt at all
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

zenrat

Apparently the pilots took one look at them and refused to fly them.  Hence the use of models.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

zenrat industries:  We're everywhere...for your convenience..

PR19_Kit

Sadly the models were pretty rubbish too, and very badly flown as well. :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

IIRC there were some serious airworthiness issues to contend with.
