Quote from: Pellson on March 21, 2025, 02:00:11 PMI'll take the opportunity to suggest a theme I'm almost constantly adhering to, one way or another while whiffing, the Will it never die? theme.

The general idea is to build and modernise any equipment to make it serve long past it's real out-of-service date. It can be as easy as my 1960's J35A Draken gaining the IRST from a later version, more modern armament and a modern grey air-to-air paint scheme, but it could also be a Mosquito with a targeting pod and Maverick missiles. Or a Spad VII armed with Sidewinders. Or anything in that general direction.

Being a very sporadic GB participant, often due to my current mojo not matching the current GB, this would definitely suit me as it's allowing most of what I build as entries.

Yes, it's a selfish suggestion. So bite me.  ;)

This would definitely include the M60 Patton tank. Glue lots of sheet plastic to the outside for bolt on armor and ERA panels.
😃😃😃
Ya know Ken that's at least 3 M60 versions the Israelis had in actual service right there .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Imagine all the different engineering, bridge laying, mine clearing and infantry assault vehicles they could use them for!

Quote from: NARSES2 on March 22, 2025, 06:51:18 AMRight I have a suggestion :-

Versailles to Molotov/Riibbentrop. Build anything - air/sea/land - military or civil - that was used/built/thought about in the period between the signing of the Treaty of Versailles and the end of the Great War 1919 and the signing of the Moltov-Ribbentrop pact and the begining of WWII in 1939.

Is this anywhere in the world or just Europe, Chris?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I used to drink in the Blacksmith's with a guy who did that during his break from Uni many, many moons ago  ;D

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Maybe time to dust those plans off again?  ;)

Borderline political statement there, Kit - be careful!

I was thinking that as I pressed the 'Post' button too...................

Sounds like both Defense Scheme #1 and War Plan Red were Bad Ideas if not downright stupid.

Okay, I'll give it another go:

The James Bond GB.

Make a vehicle, diorama or piece of hardware that features in a James Bond movie, the latter being notorious for their improbable gadgets and amazing vehicles. This has scope for everyone: aircraft, cars, boats, warships, airships, armoured vehicles, motorbikes, spacecraft and hovercraft have all featured in the real movies, as well as the villain's lair sets and the endless gadgets. The build has to be a what-if: it could be an alternative for a piece of hardware that appeared in a real James Bond movie (what-if the Aston Martin DB5 had been a Jaguar E-type, or the Bede BD-5J had been a Rutan job instead?), it could be something from an entire fictional movie of your own devising, or it could even be from a "Bond adjacent" parody movie like the Our Man Flint films, again, either real or imagined. Whatever it is, the backstory must make clear how it fits into the movie and what "special" features it has.

Bert Rutan did do the flight testing of the BD-5.
