Maybe, but I prefer the less-creepy version.
And aside from Rachel  , the movie was still a lot of fun and entertaining - so I'm not complaining.

All I'm talking about is the characterization of Imhotep/Ardan Bey, not the entire film.
A Goa'uld who wakes up in the '30s would
be more likely to be cagey, as its corps of
enforcers wouldn't be present.

Fir enough.
And very likely - until they rebuilt their corps of adherents.

Thus why it would make common cause with the Nazis. A bunch of fanatics ready and willing to do what they're told. The good guys keep it out of the hands of the Nazis, but our tricksy Goa'uld slips out of Egypt and gets to Germany. Brainworm for Mr. Hitler.
End of Part 1
Part 2.
Now all it needs is a gate and DHD of its own, convenient that it knows of one in Antarctica, which is the real reason behind the Nazi expedition of 1938-39. The good guys find out what's going on and much frozen hilarity ensues. (Need to work some Lovecraft in.) Perhaps they find frozen Great Old Ones and they turn out to be an enemy of the Goa'uld, indeed the creators of the Goa'uld and they seek the total destruction of all Goa'uld (the result of experiments with shoggoths?). Humans would still irrelevant to them as beings, but very useful as tools.

And now I've got Mel Brooks coming up with a song for that... :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

"CandyGram for Mongo! CandyGram for Mongo!"

Oops - wrong Mel Brooks movie. But still, tho...

That story sounds like a FanFic that's begging to be written - any takers, or anyone know of someone amongst the Fen that might want to run with it?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

"The hardest part was coming up with the idea of the CandyGram. And I bet I never get any credit!"

A friend sent me these pictures from the Frog models page on Facebook. Stretched fuselage Shackleton with 2 stroke diesel engines fitted, and in service during the 80's.

That was the Shack 5 project IIRC, with the totally mind boggling Napier Nomad engines.

Looks a great model too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I have a plan for another Shackleton kit of mine  but you might not like the plan kit.
It involves clipping the wings, taking a section of fuselage out, and removing the outermost pair of engines. The inners would be replaced with Rolls Royce Darts. Solid radar nose, gun pack, under wing rocket pods, possible anti ship missiles on the wings and wing tip tanks  with the prvision for underwing tanks too. Camera ports on the rear fuselage could be added too. The nose will take some thinking as a round nose on a square fuselage will take some doing to look right.

CLIPPING the wings?  :-\

All the rest of your plan sounds a great idea though Chris.
