Thanks folks.
Work has reared its ugly head and got in the way of setting up Dadswell Bridge and taking photos.
However, I am hopeful that I can get to it this weekend and get the MiG 15 and the Fireflyski photographed.

I hope it is some sort of photo rig and not using this as a backdrop for the Fireflyski  ;)

The big Koala was looking a bit sad my last time through Dadswell Bridge

We always try to stop there for a cuppa when we do the Adelaide run.

My airfield base with painted backdrop, which I use to photograph my 1/72 builds, is modelled on the Dadswell Bridge People's Aviation Museum.

Progress on the Woody.

The wood is hand brushed.  There are transfers for the panels (not installed in the pic).  I put one side on today but was called away when Mrs z needed a ride to the chemist.

Wood panel transfers are all in place now.
Engine is nearly completed.  It's a small block Mopar - LA318 - V8.
Unfortunately during the build of this I have used the last of my Testors Chrysler Blue engine enamel.  It's not available anymore and I don't know of a replacement.

Somewhere above I waffle on about no new 1/72 build until I finish something.  Well that lasted until today.  Inspired by Tom's pics from the Euro Show I have pulled out a Special Hobby Northrop Delta.
It's this version...

...which comes with wheels. floats and skis.  I'm thinking the floats.  But the huge spats do sure look good.

I can find the real stuff in pint pots, but the only model paint that comes up is Tamiya TS44 Brilliant Blue.

Ooh, I found this:

Ooooh, that looks very close to 'Petter Blue' as used on the prototype Canberra, and JUST what I was looking for to use on the Dalgety!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks Rick.  Zero is good paint but it does have to be airbrushed.  However needs must...

Speaking of paint.  If you put a stainless mixing ball into a glass bottle and then shake like buggery the paint might escape.
Don't ask me how I know this...

Oops! indeed, young Fred.  ;D

SMS paints just take time & patience ... & the stamina to continue vigorous shaking while letting one pass & stretching the other.

I might try poking a stirrer in the top of the bottle next time.

Paint goes on well though.  The matts dry fast and smooth.  They just need stronger bottles  ;D .

Well that is a first. I have a heap of SMS paint, always use a stirring element, either Ball or now, as they are cheaper, small M4 or M5 nuts which you can buy in a pack of 10 for less that $5.
Never seen that happen.

Never seen that before. You must be an Olympic Class shaker to achieve that  ;)

Hataka supply their paints with a ball already in the "pot", need to be mindful of your experience when shaking in future
