Wow! Impressive! So far from what I do in every sense, and still really interesting!
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

NARSES2

I know now't about cars (real world or Wiff) whatsoever, but can appreciate a good model
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Some really intense work on the interior there Rick, most impressive.

So Haynes did a manual on it? I never knew that, magic stuff.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I do like a MM Interceptor. From time to time you see the full size replicas around, of this and the MFP Police vehicles

They're quite common at car shows in Oz; there's quite a lot of footage on the 'Tube.

Kit - sorry, the Haynes Manual was for the Standard Falcon - I should have specified.
Give them time, though...

Thanks for the kind words, folks.

I understand there's quite a market for them in Japan...

Damn it turned out good 👌  ;D  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Thanks, Phill.

Yea, I'm quite happy with it...  ;)

I just tried looking on HLJ and they're all Discontinued, which is disappointing - you'd think the market was keen enough to reissue them...

1/72 Post-WW2 RNZAF F4U-1 Corsair **What If**

Late in WW2 the RNZAF Command Staff and the Politicians in Wellington had an eye on the Post-War needs of the Air Force and in a rare move for the time elected to look for what would best meet New Zealand's future aircraft requirements, regardless of the source.
Accordingly, a short list of fighter aircraft in current use, or in development was made and the choices came down to the Hawker Tempest V, Martin Baker MB5, Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation CA-15, Grumman F6F Hellcat and the Chance-Vought F4U-1 Corsair.
The MB5 and CAC-15 never progressed past prototype stage and as the Wartime RNZAF had experience with the Corsair, the choice was leaning that way; then when the war ended and the Pacific Air Forces' aircraft were sent back to New Zealand the decision was made to use some of these airframes for the Post-War Air Force, rather than scrapping the lot. A deal was made with the US Government, whereby New Zealand would only pay scrap prices for the aircraft they kept.

The airframes were inspected and sufficient of the best examples were reserved for the intended four Territorial Squadrons (Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago), with more airframes being disassembled to provide an ample spares stock, to be held at the airfields where the Squadrons would be based.

The Corsairs were well received, being combat-proven veterans as well as tough and packing a punch with the standard 6X .50 calibre machine guns and able to carry up to 8X High Velocity Aerial Rockets or 2,000 lbs of ordnance.

Later on, the machine guns were replaced by 4X 20mm cannon; the fabric areas of the wings and control surfaces were replaced with metal skinning; the well for the tailhook (which had already been removed during the war) was plated over; and more powerful engines were mated to four-bladed propellers to give these craft more speed.

The model depicts an aircraft used in the 1948 Wargame 'Exercise Ngarimu', used by the Composite Squadron of the South Island Forces, hence the dual Squadron bars of Canterbury and Otago.

The model is a standard Hasegawa 1/72 kit, with added cockpit details and detailed undercarriage doors, and the kit canopy.
I myself would have resisted the urge to drop the flaps; but I acquired it at an estate sale and the work was already done, so...

Markings are Tasman, for an RNZAF Mustang. Main paintjob is Humbrol Aluminum and Black, detail paints were whatever suited.
