Right, I've been considering this project for quite some time. I actually started with the question: "What to do with 2x 1/48 F-100 fuselages". I considered to cut the fuselage over it's length and create a bigger intake. By using the lower halves only the result is a long flat and angular fuselage.  So, by mixing and matching with some 1/48 F-80 wings a sort of Lockheed L-133 spin off was created. It's noticeably bigger than an L-133 (I got the Sharkit resin kit in the stash).
So what if Lockheed made a spin off by scaling up the L-133 concept and turn it into a three engined (J-47's) medium bomber. Maybe it looked like this:

All mayor parts are taped to check it's overall look. The tail is a resin copy I made for my Budd Connestoga II project. I like the slender look of it and superglued it to the spine. But it's too tall. Need to cut it's base and take out about 1/5 inch.
The canard wings are 1/56 revell F-94 tail planes and will be fit half way on the fuselage height once the sanding of the forward fuselage is done.
Undercarriage is supplied by the 1/48 F-80. Next up is to put in a bomb bay and clean up the exhaust area.

Oh, it's in 1/72 scale..

Some serious surgery!  Agree the tail is too tall, but like where this is going!

Magic idea, I can still see elements of the L-133 in it too.

Oh wow. That looks amazing. Looking forward to the progress here.

Great kit bashing! I see much PSR in your future, though.

Oh ya gotta love smacking bits together and it's instant cool 😎 ☺️
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yeah, need to chop it at the base...close to 1 cm will be taken out. Maybe more..

This is really cool!  Will it be nuclear-armed or conventional?

Let's be politically incorrect and nuke-em...;-)

Time for an update.

Cockpit is in, intake trunk is adjust to accept cockpit and nosegear, intake trunk is fitted. spine was sanded smooth to fit the canopy. Vertical tail was cut. Bomb bay was made and put in, rear fuselage was sanded with coarse paper and fitted to frontal upper fuselage. dry fitted frontal fuselage to lower fuselage half/ wing section. Fit is ok (well... it's level and therefore acceptable). Out comes the superglue and the upper fuselage was assembled to the lower half. Gaping holes on the side ( aka seamline) were puttied now left to dry.

Tried the undercarriage how it sits:

And lets try how those mk12 nuclear bombs fit in the bomb bay:

These are two side by side and there is still room for two.

Now waiting for the putty to dry and it's PSR time. I do feel the vertical tail needs a fillet.

Oh yes, I DO like that super long, squished nose look.
