Various solutions were proposed including a train of carriers used as tractors - two or three depending on conditions, and tanks. A turretless Valentine was determined to be the best answer due to its relatively low profile.

And the fact the Vanentine could move on its own would help immensely to  ;D

Till it was decided that it was better and simpler to mount the Flakvierling directly on the turretless Valentine and dispense with the Carrier.... :rolleyes:  :banghead:

Have you been reading my mind again?   :o

It may turn out that they were pushed across Normandy by Armoured Dozers...

Today I raised the gun mounting frame.
I assembled all the suspension parts modifying where necessary to get all the wheels on the deck.
I had already glued all the track sections together yesterday.  I used Epoxy which looks like it'll do the job if I am gentle with it.
And I began sanding and scribing the scratched up ammo boxes.

Painting today.
I'm going for a green carrier with a grey gun on top.  Gunshields and barrels painted green also.

More painting today.  Tracks, ammo boxes, ammo box racks, gun mounts, tyres...

Sure will Phill.  Unless I f**k it up.

We went away for the weekend (footy in Adelaide) but today we returned and I continued detail painting the tracks and glued on the gun mounts and some of the wheels.

Any f**k-ups in Armour modelling are easier to explain away or work around than with Aircraft ('don't ask', etc);
Battle damage, a coat of mud etc, or slap a wodge of foliage or hang a tarp over the naff bits.
Or have it hull-down in a ditch or pond... I remember Steve Zaloga melted the resin trackwork of a St Chamond, trying to clean up the old paint, so he did just that - put it into a shell hole lake.
Simples - there's always a way to cheat I mean work around something  ;)  :thumbsup:

Road wheels all attached.
Looks like my guesstimated mods to the rear suspension have lowered it by a suitable amount.
<phew>
One side of the tracks is painted, worn metalled, and rusted.  Once i've done the other side I can attach them.
A tip for painting pre assembled tracks before fitting them.  Pin them down onto a piece of board.  You can only do one side at a time but it avoids trying to hold them while you paint and then painting your fingers.

I use those disposable medical gloves for that Fred ...not like I've done that in a while now tho.
That might be changing tho if I build more armour .

I use medical gloves when I use an airbrush, but those single-use gloves are no good anymore. After 20 or 30 uses, they start to break.. :rolleyes:

So my hands are painted anyway. And I am building many trucks etc in 1/87, when I paint the tires (with a brush, of course), I always end up with black nails and fingers.
