Well after a busy 4/5 days I finally got back to the bench this morning and managed to get a little bit of paintwork done. Won't get much more done today as I'm absolutely creamed.

Feeling absolutely creamed, and when I am the "Big P" can kick in a bit  :-\  Paintbrushes can be lethal when that happens let alone a scalpel, so no building today.

Sorry to note that, Chris, but wise decision.

Hope you're up for it tomorrow.

Oh, that mean sofa day. And possibly even study-the-referece-library day. At length. Making short notes for future backstories.

Take care, Chris. And there'll be another day tomorrow.

Yes, indeed - reference grazing and note taking are always a good option.

And yep, there's always another day.

It's definately not "man flu" mate.  Bit more serious than that  :-\

Anyway whilst waiting for various paint/glue/putty to dry or set I started tinkering with "Project 23" the Special hobby Boomerang. It's typical of Special Hobby's "Second Period *", when they moved a little more mainstream. Still that soft blue/grey plastic, chunky sprue gates (some in awkward places) but some really nice detail and reasonable/good fit (touching all the wood when I say that as I still have to fit the cockpit and close the fuselage). It also has some fitment aids/guides (pins and holes) which is generaly a sign of progress.  Also typical is the inclusion of some resin (wheels and exhaust) and a profusion of cockpit parts, almost half the parts on the single sprue - 23 out of 50 - are for the cockpit. It's the first kit I've built where I've made a concious decision to not bother with some of the tiny parts. I doubt if you'd see them anyway ?

So, after a couple of hours all the major parts are cleaned up and test fitted which is good, and the cockpit is assembled and awaits paint. So I'm pleased with the progress made. Soon have to open another box

Special Hobby's recent new toolings are what I'd call "Third Period", getting up there and indeed surpassing some main stream established producers.
