Decals arrived today, so building and priming has started. Interior is charitably described as 'sparse,' but in this size the idea of scratchbuilding a better one is daunting. Nope, ain't gonna happen. Goes together fairly well so far.

It looks like quite a good little kit.

How detailed does a cockpit need to be in 1/72?

They don't need to go crazy but it is nice to have bulkheads, floor, IP, seat, stick, and a crew.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

My thoughts exactly, but I still try and complete them according to the instructions  :banghead:  As said in my Blog the Special Hobby Boomerang has 50 parts on the single sprue of which 23 are for the cockpit

Or their 1/72 Wirraway.  Two seats = twice as many tiny cockpit parts.

And as Serendipity would have it there's a build of one in the May edition of SAM that's just landed  ;D

I love the 'yellow wings' look, but this one will be a two-tone (at least) green camouflage, which would serve better over the jungle vegetation of southern Mexico.

It's labeled as 'Cockpit green' on the bottle I'm using, I think... no longer in the hobby room to check, I'm presently running an inventory on ther liquor cabinet. But you didn't hear that from me.

They certainly used the 'Peashooter,' in fact it was still in service as a trainer into around 1954, the year after my countenance was inflicted upon this planet. You may be correct on the colour, my research [/drunken_wandering_on_the_web] hasn't yet determined that.

Someone has to do it after all.  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

I ran one on the beer fridge today.  Far too much wine in there but I did find a bottle of Chimay Reserve I forgot i'd been given.  Used it to wash down the roast beef and yorkshires I sweated over all morning.  It did the job very well.
