The set does tho have alot of mounts and ammo cans ..ammo belts ..tripods and the short barreled M3 50cal machine guns.
The receivers for the 50cals are very nice with separate cocking handles and being that Academy supplies receivers without barrels too makes it easier to replace the barrels with more accurate ones 😀

The Dragon set is not so good. The receivers for the .50 cals have big sink holes. I may have to use the Academy M3 version with the aircraft style barrel. Never know when you might find one of those in the back of the warehouse.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I visited an aircraft restoration shop a couple of years ago and there were six .50 cals from a Mustang laying on a shelf. I struggled to keep my hands off of them.

I suppose I could hang one on the wall in the basement.

They also had a replica of the gun that fired through the spinner of a Me-109. It was one solid piece of aluminum. It was waiting to be installed through the cockpit and into the engine compartment.

I can see that; for the correct weight distribution.
The same reason they had cast casings around the much smaller and lighter engines in the new-build Me-262s.

They could have put in ballast but the owner wanted as much realism as possible without legal problems!

I've got the decals laid out. Maybe some progress tomorrow. I messed around with the intake and exhaust piping today.

I've got the decals on! Yee Ha!

I also installed the air intake pipe. The hull and the veranda are glued to the frame. The wheels are the only major parts to be installed. I'll do that after the flat coat.
