Good that there is that option, then.

True, but getting one over here at anything less than silly money is just dreaming... :banghead:

And the Airfix range isn't exactly cheap anymore, either... sigh.

Didn't Fujimi do a late Spitfire/Seafire with a contraporp?

Hmmm, I wonder who did it then?

I had one in The Loft until a while ago, but it's been whiffed into something else by now I'm sure, maybe the Speagle I did for the last Telford.

Looking at the completed model, it looks surprisingly realistic. I would almost like to push for an in-service version, perhaps working Operation Firedog?

Special Hobby Seafire 47 has a contra prop and a single prop.  I think their Spitfire 24 shares the relevant sprues.
I have one.  I'll have a look tomorrow if i remember.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on April 23, 2025, 08:45:35 AMAs for the B-57, how about 'Canucking' it, keep the J-57 engines but clamp them right up against the fuselage, like a Tu-16 or a CF-100?

Did that a few years back for my GASSP Meteor, although they aren't fully mated to the fuselage. Follow this link to see how badly an inexpensive digital camera renders bright red.

A quick look on the internet shows the Special Hobby or Airfix are the only real options. There was one from Pegasus that was cheap but looked pretty rough.

I had a look in the box in my shed I keep spitfires in.  These two Special Hobby kits share the same sprue C which contains parts for both a 5 blade single prop or three blade contra props.

Ah yes, the F24 is the one I have. Found it last night and it's 1/2 built, but I'm not at all sure what I had planned for it now.  :-\

I'm going to a show in June and I'll have to have a look around there. Thanks for checking on the common sprues. This way I can buy one of each if I have to and still make it work.
