That's come out really well Rick    Unusual to see a Corsair in natural metal.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yup, that's a really, really nice Corsair. Unusual in a very good way.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

The backstory sells it.

This a very nice, logical build

Hello the Corsair looks so good in metal Rick 😍 😊😊
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Rick Lowe

Cheers.

Yup, quite different.

IIRC there may actually have been one like that used by the RNZAF in J-Force.

Wardukw

I've a pic of a massively weathered Corsair and I'm pretty sure that's where my 48th Tamiya one will be going .

Finding a pic of the J-Force Corsair I'd bet would be a serious head smacking task 😂 🤣

A bit of a change this time:
I found a couple of old CDs and on them were some wip shots I'd forgotten about - or thought I'd lost along with the previous camera.

Some are things I've already posted, others are teasers...

Especially for ANZAC Day, there's this:

1/35 M3A3 Stuart Recce **Real World**

Turretless Stuart light tanks were used for reconnaissance in WW2.
This depicts one used by the Reconnaissance Troop of the 19th Armoured Regiment of the 2NZEF in Italy, 1944.

Lower hull and running gear are Academy M3A1 kit.
Upper Hull is an MAC Conversions resin part.
Tamiya M5 Stuart hatches, other details from wherever I could find them.
The Fifty is the Academy item.

Interior is a mix of Academy, Verlinden and spares/scratch items, radio is from the Tamiya Universal Carrier with added detail.
I thought I had some racks of grousers from the Tamiya M5A1, but didn't; so, I used Evergreen profiles and made my own.

Paint is acrylic white for the interior, with detail painting using whatever came to hand and finishing with a black wash; the exterior is a generic rattlecan olive green, which turned out to be pretty close to what I was wanting.
Test pot brown paint with talcum powder mixed in for the mud on the running gear, drybrushed with the same after it had set.

Bison Decals for the NZ Tac markings, the rest from the spares bank.
And I have just seen I mixed up the tac number and the colour of the Squadron sign: oops!

The reference used was:  Kiwi Armour, Part 2; 4th New Zealand Armoured Brigade in Italy, by J Plowman and M Thomas.

The Stuart Recce looks very good - the interior is nicely detailed!
