Here are pics of my 1/72 scale MPM Me 262 A-2a/U2 and 1/48 scale Monogram Ju 87G-1, most of the paintwork is done on them and I will start putting the decals on after some touch ups and the gloss coat is added.

The RLM 71 on the Stuka is way too light but it is too late to fix it now, I tried to go for a faded out paint job on it and I lightened it too much. :(  After the decals are put on I will be weathering it quite a bit more. The spats and guns are taped on for these pics.

Just love that wiggly squiggly camo on the 263.

Thanks Allan!

The idea for the camo on the 262 came from looking at pictures of a KG 51 Me 262 A-2a I have in my reference books.

Mmmmmm, Tankbuster :) I love the weathering you achieve in your painting. Both are fantastic but I'm really diggin' the Stuka!

Thank you Jeff!

I am painting and marking this Stuka as the a/c Hans Ulrich Rudel flew when he surrendered to American forces at the end of the war. It was very dirty with mud splashed on the rear of the fuselage and bottom of the spats and the model will be weathered to try and match the full sized a/c. Well, thats my plan I'm not sure if I will get the weathering (mud splatters) to look right.

I'm really interested in how you will replicate the mud on Rudel's plane.

Allan,

I will try a combination of artists oil paints and airbrushing. This will be something I have never attempted before but look forward to giving it a try.

Woah looking good Matrixone! You may think the colors on the Stuka are too light but to my eye it has the look of being in the field a long time. Excellent!

I can't wait to see how these turn out. You're off to a fantastic start!

I think the Stuka colors look fine. Some weathering and decals and it'll look like a well worn beast.

The Me-2762 looks great, too!

I think the low intensity of the paint is actually going to synch very well with your style of aged photography that we're hoping to soon see in some b&w diorama pics.

Will naturally be outstanding: it's a matrixone ™, after all.   ;)

Thanks for the comments ysi_maniac, Brian, frank, and JHM!

Brian,
I was glad you spotted this post, its not often I build a spat plane! :)

JHM,
After all the money I spent on reference books and color charts that deal with Luftwaffe colors, and then to be that far off on the RLM 71 was a bummer. <_<

I use Model Master enamel paints and their RLM 71 and RLM 70 are not even close to any of my color charts, I custom mix my paints to get a little closer to the intended colors but I lightened the RLM 71 too much by accident.
Boy do I miss those Aeromaster enamel paints, their RLM 70 and RLM 71 were close to the actual Luftwaffe colors.
