I used to be all over interoperability between our ( and your ) services, but now with all this stuff going on globally it would be pretty hard to distance yourself from another Nations policy objectives when you're involved from the get go....

An amazing number of non-Brits seem to be hyper critical of OUR defence policies in the Comments in that piece. But then it's easy when they don't have to pay our taxes.............
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It is a USAian publication Kit.  But don't forget, the United States gets to decide every other nations defence policy anyway.

Ooops, about to get political.  Better hush ma mouth.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

They probably see it as the US propping up our Airgroup, because we don't have enough aircraft, they don't get the other side of the story of what the US get out of such a deal, apart from inter-operating with closest ally, if gives them another mobile tactical strike option without having to committ a Carrier Air Group or Amphibious Ready Group. The USMC aviators will love it (well most of them) as its a chance to deploy and operate as a Squadron on a ship optimised for the F-35B, allowing them to hone their Carrier skills including CAP strike and CAS.

I think we may see an exercise pretty early utilising a QEC with 2+ US squadrons and support aicraft as the USMC want to try out the heavy F-35B wing of 24-30 aircraft to run optimal air ops, but their America class is maxed out at 20 aircraft and simply doesnt have the flight deck space for sustained carrier operations. The RN will benefit from testing the Carrier at full tempo long before we get out complement of F-35B's.

The interesting one is if based in the UK, would they go to Marham with the rest of the UK F-35B's or down the road at Lakenheath with the USAF which will get the F-35A ?, i wonder which they would prefer ?

Not sure if the USN is still dry ? If it is yet another reason for them to enjoy their time with the R.N.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

haha good call Chris !

I never read any of the comments. I don't really care what opinions complete strangers hold. And it's all to easy to say somat when there are zero consequences and I believe half of them just say somat to get a rise and continue their arguments

Any road, the whif possibilities are out there was all I was getting at. I have my one F-35 kit and a plan for it, but I can see myself getting a few more ! perhaps a few sets of the Orange hobby 350 scale ones as well.

IMO, it gives a reason not to cancel the Brit carrier and even get the other one up to snuff
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Mmm, yeah, but the commentators can be, and are, from anywhere including the UK.
Anyhow as the Cap sez:"I never read any of the comments. I don't really care what opinions complete strangers hold."
