Originally established in 1941 to test captured German aircraft, it was disbanded in 1945. It reformed for one year in 1956 to carry out PR duties in Aden, and then disbanded again. But then, a defecting MiG-17 showed up at RAF Gütersloh...

First picture. The fuselage will be natural metal, and the Rub 'n Buff is looking lovely, the photo doesn't do it justice. For identification purposes the wings will be red. I know that during WWII captured aircraft were normally given yellow undersides, but figured it was time for a change. I got tired of all that yellow on the Proctor TT, and wanted something different. I'll probably come up with some rationale in the back story. And maybe we'll see Winkle Brown come back to test fly it! After all, he did command 1426 Flight at one time. Oh, and it will be 'wheels up', on a stand, just didn't feel like fighting with the gear. You'll notice one pitot tube has broken off, be prepared for much weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth when I try to get it back on.

Which kit is it and are those rivets or raised panel lines?

Fred

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Looks like the original KP kit. Built one many years ago, too.

The Rat

Yeah, it's the KP, very fine raised rivets AND panel lines. Test fitting shows that there will be some hair-pulling.  :-\

I don't know to what extent inanimate objects can be held to legal account, but there is a certain piece in this kit which should be charged with criminal impersonation of a canopy. The only thing clear about it is that it is, without a doubt, clearly the worst I have ever seen, with the possible exception of the rear window on the ARII 1/72nd Cessna 172.  :banghead:

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
