Unfortunately Fort Paull has closed for good, putting the future of the Beverley into doubt.  Hopefully a buyer can be found.  :-\

I can think of the perfect candidate, with large sites at Hendon and Cosford, but as they scrapped the Bev they already had I'm less than confident. :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

As I've said elsewhere - If somebody comes up with a decent plan for the long term preservation of the Beverley I will happily put up money to that end.
I'd love to see her in a museum like Cosford or Yorkshire Air Museum Elvington. Under cover is a must.

Fort Paull itself is a unique structure that really could be managed and promoted better, the site has suffered from having lots of hand-me-downs and junk donated.

From the sounds of things one of the museum owners died recently and their other half wants to stop. There's a lot of stuff on site including the Gnat that was mounted outside the old Humbrol factory in Hull and a very good manufacturers model of the Beverley that really should be in a museum.

That model is of the Super Bev that Mossie posted before, but it's been P'boxed now :(

It looks REALLY impressive, and they should have built it.

Yes, that thing was super cool. I think I have all of those pics saved on my other computer. I might have to sign up for that British Secret Projects site to see more. I'd love to build that 144th scale bird. Are they going to release it again ?

I know there's several people here with connections to the Midland Air Museum, that Super Beverley model might be at home there?

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Nick

If anyone is daft enough to buy those Waxworks then they need their eyes tested. They are some of the worst figures I have ever seen anywhere and barely resemble the real people.

Some of those armoured vehicles and guns are extremely rusty and would need major work to be presentable, let alone get going again.

I just hope a major museum can put up a serious bid for the Beverley - does anyone know of crowdfunding efforts?

McColm

Wow  This is an educational topic,  I'm definitely going to build my interpretation of the Car-Ferry using the 1/72 Contrail kit.

McColm

The Beverly has been bought and will remain in Britain,  relocated near Selby in Yorkshire. After being dismantled it will be turned into a holiday let.

PR19_Kit

I love the whole idea, and I'm up for a few quid helping it.

If it's not too pricey I'd love to stay in it when it's done too.  ;D

I'm not massively enthused, these ventures don't often work out, but better that than the scrap hammer.

Glad she's been saved....for now ! Hopefully they don't destroy it in the process.

She's been moved a couple of times already, so I hope they're using the same contractors, who hopefully know what they're doing.

Fortunately, someone posted my old pics on Secret Projects.  There's quite a lot of info there including images from the brochure:
