LOVE it!

Both the original idea and the execution, it's brill!

There'll be a world shortage of PRU Blue paint after this GB.  ;D

That's a brilliant plan with the ball turret. I wish I had such great idea's!

Execution of the model is flawless. great modelling here!

Love it!

What a great idea, inventive story and a superb model!

Really nice work, the concept works very well.

The backstory was a hoot. I particularly liked the post war Film Hack parts

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thank you Mr Chris sir.

That's it, just keep showing the due deference and you won't go far wrong  ;)

Hi Fred,

just found this build thread and although its a couple of years old wanted to add my comments. The Defiant looks just great as a PR conversion - without the bulk of the gun turret, its quite a sleek and good-looking aeroplane, especially with the shortened canopy. I'm inspired to have a go at my own! There are certainly RW precedents for this sort of conversion, PR Beaufighters, for instance.

Oh, and RTOOD2 is a stroke of genius!

All the best,
Mark

Thanks Mark.

I had forgotten about the RR Griffon engined P38 Y Wing idea.  I don't have any Griffons but I do have some spare Sabres and a Hasegawa Lightning...

The Sabres sound like a good option, Fred! I've no idea how the Sabre compares in size to the Allison V-1710 - how easy will it be to fair the cowlings into the booms? Should be good to see.....

Oh, and by the way, I've ordered an Airfix Defiant, so there's no going back

All the best,
Mark

48th or 72nd?  This is 72nd.

I have a feeling the sabres will be significantly fatter than the Allisons.

Its 1/48th; your 1/72nd build could easily pass for a larger scale, btw.

Think you could be right about the Sabres vs Allisons, but it'll be a really interesting conversion. Another one on my to-do list is the Napier Dagger-engined Hurricane trainer proposal that was put forward as a means of easing strain on Merlin production. The Dagger was a tall and narrow lump, so mating that to the Hurricane firewall should be fun ;D

Cheers,
Mark
