Thanks Kit to take this heresy with a smile... ;)

Well, while the glue is drying and before adding putty, let me show you the first project of mine about it: a 1/72 single-jet single-seater (the 2 extra engines going with a P-51D 1/72 Heller scheduled to buy for Christmas 2022, to provide an extra injected canopy to an Unicraft model, the twin-fuselage Junkers EF.109 maybe).

The other considered versions are still interesting while their profile is not better.

Yesterday, I started to add putty on one side:

And this morning on another side (4 sides total):

This project is close to completion: sanding, gluing the fuselage on top of the wing and the lateral engines above the central one, painting, and it will be done. All in less than one week. But why did I use the DC-10 to create this completely new aircraft? Because its "engine in fin" is very recognizable. Almost all others 3-jet airliners are different and are the same between one another: Tristar, HS Trident, Boeing 727, Tupolev 154, Falcon 50/900, Yak 40/42 (and projects Tu-204, Falcon 8x, ...). The same rear central air intake but the exhaust is below at the end of the fuselage, while on the DC-10 (renamed MD-11 after Douglas inclusion in McDonnell-Douglas) exceptionally the jet is all in the fin including its exhaust nozzle (Airbus commercials maybe said this is dangerous, at the beginning before Airbus A300 success).

Actually the MD11 is a different, enlarged and improved DC10 rather than just a rename, and better looking for it, to my mind too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

  Thanks for the info. I had not checked, just saying from general aspect.  ;D

After checking, my model will be 5 times smaller than PR19_Kit's MD-11, with one human being inside instead of about 420 (passengers+crew) or maybe 5 in his tanker version... ;)

Uh, I was meaning 5 times smaller in model's centimeters (or inches) but 10 times smaller for the "real thing" meters (or feet or yards). And 10 times smaller in a 3-dimension world would mean (if not what-if joke) 10*10*10=1,000 times lighter! Quite a difference! ;)

Uh, yesterday after lunch, I had the 3rd side having putty on (hold standing with the help of my medicine pill box):

Yesterday at the end of afternoon, I had the 4th side having putty on:

Then, this morning, the sanding time has come. Only one sanding session, on the 4 sides and 4 connections, not absolutely perfect but I judge this is acceptable, no more PSR: <_<

Then gluing the wing and tailplanes on, great, the little airplane is taking shape! <_<

But... there is a non-elegant tail-down nose-up position. Well, that could be "take off position" but level would be better maybe.
