How does the British military get away with flying so low over towns? People in the US would be throwing a fit over the noise. Of course people here buy a house just off the runway of an existing airport then complain about the noise too

This has always been a low flying area since before WW2, as was  around our previous house  near Carlisle, so most people just accept it as part of the scenery. As regards ultra-low helicopters, most Herefordians  just assume that" oh, it's that lot from Credenhill again" (22SAS) and get on with life.    Honestly, in much of the UK, there's more annoyance caused by traffic noise than by military aircraft.

There used to be defined low flying areas in the UK, and my house at that time was right on one of the turning points. I'd often look up straight into the cockpit of a Bucc or a Phantom standing on its wingtip right over my garden!

They changed it a while back, and I think that the whole country is now such an area, bar airport control areas or zones. JayBee or Kitbasher would know for sure i bet, it was their area of expertise after all.  ;D

Eastern Airways Jetstream, landing at Humberside.  Normally they skirt around my town but this one came straight over the house, got a very good look at it.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

As long as Cap wasn't on the receiving end of "50 rounds 15 inch, rapid fire" from Warspite, he'd be fine.

11 June 1944:

Quote from: HMS WARSPITE ASSOCIATION.... Warspite was off Gold Beach, where British troops had gone ashore. This time the battleship helped save the 50th Division from a formidable counter-attack by destroying German troops and tanks assembling for the assault in a wood.  The order given by Captain Kelsey for this impressive firepower display was: "Fifty rounds 15-inch rapid fire."

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
