Done some  more PSR, not much but it shows them they are not forgotten. Weather not really suitable but I would like to get one of them finished for Telford.

Just to show that I am making progress and it's not just a figment of my imagination
Is your imagination going up to inventing a Twin-Tempest-2 (aka Mk.22?) ;) ;D

Maybe this is not just imagination but true life story: look at the photograph below:

I don't know who is this Tophe2022 and which kind of modification he made, maybe increasing the light to see better, thanks! ;)

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

No progress. I need to do some fairly heavy (for me) psr work on the pair of them, and for that I need to be in the right mood. I'll let you know when I am

I've just started my Mk II Chris.

Any tips would be gratefully received.

Apart from saying "put it back in the box" you mean   ;)

No seriously, The cowling is in three pieces and on my third kit I've tried attaching the two major pieces to their individual fuselage halves rather then following the instructions. You still end up with issues fitting the engine and the third piece but they are slightly more manageable, and with the Tempest II you can't really see the engine anyway so it can take some hefty sanding to get it to fit.

The rest of the kit is fine, it's just the cowling

Thanks Chris.  I've reread all this thread and taken mental notes (probably not worth the paper they are written on given my colander like brain).

The destructions have you building the cowling/engine assembly before the fuselage.
I was intending on having the fuselage halves glued together first so I could dry fit the cowling parts and use them as a jig when assembling them. Think that would work?  Or is it just a case that the parts don't fit right?

The cowling just doesn't fit I'm afraid. However the way you suggest might help. It could be a case that all, or at least the major part of the fettling could be done to the third, small, part of the cowling ? In a way that's what I'm attempting to do with my third build, except I've glued the cowls to the fuselage and have yet to mate the two halves.

You've managed to shame me into picking this back up again.   I'll give it another good crack over the coming weekend and see where I get.

I will remove the parts from the sprues and have a play tomorrow.
I'm nearly ready to join the fuselage halves, I just need to apply the seatbelt decals and attach the seat to the bulkhead.

I'm glad i've motivated you into action.
 ;)

I'll pass judgment after the weekend  ;D

I glued the fuselage halves together today (getting a big gluey fingerprint on one half  :banghead: ) and then offered up the cowling parts (the two large upper parts).
The fit is not good.  The curve of the cowling parts does not match the curve the end of the fuselage.
I'm beginning think the best way to approach fettling the fit of the Centaurus cowling to the rest of the KP Tempest might be to construct the fuselage and wings and then add the nose.

That's the way I've gone on my first two and it's a right p.s.r. feast. Still I will persevere  ;)

Instructions are lousy.  I could start listing all the errors but i don't have all night...
