Scored 3 AMT kits today..one brand new and two built by someone whos not me.
All are 1/25th scale.
1967 Chevelle pro street..hate the hood intake and it wont work anyway with the new engine for it .
Now the very badly made ones..already torn them to bits .
1970 Chev Impala 2 door coupe..been in the Mexican low rider style complete with chain link steering wheel..will be completely stripped of everything including paint and turned into a nice not that wild custom car...i hope
A 1967 Ford F100 2wd lwb pick up truck..its possible its AMT but not that sure .
Its getting lowered on 20in wheels and i think it might end up being shortened a wee bit but thats a maybe .
Also scored a bloody good assortment of balsa and mahogany strips and mixture of other balsa pieces.
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.

Good score.

I've built the '70 Impala.  It's fairly crude (an ex promo model) and the one I had was riddled with sink marks but I thoroughly enjoyed it.  I'll tackle another one day.
I do like those AMT chain link steering wheels.  Perfect for vans and Fad T's.

Thats totally ture on the Impala Fred..it is very basic and your welcome to the chain link steering wheel mate  ..im never going to use it  ;D
Ive already got new seats in mind for the interior and they'll look a heap better and im pretty sure im going to have to tub it ..mini tub size as its not a pro street.

Got 3 more goodies from RMK today.
Got another of the PSI supercharged BBC V8s and also got a twin turbo LSX which is now for the Impala ..the other BBC will be modded into a BB Ford and ill mount a different injector hat on it and that will go into the F100.
Got another intercooler as well ..also for the Impala and i wont even have to make mini tubs as the 20in wheels fit in the rear beautifully..im removing the inner front guards anyway so the wheels will fit just fine.

Looks like the white metal from their Sea Fury kits plus new resin wheels and u/c bay. Ideal for replacing the very fragile Heller and Academy Tempest u/c legs, dependent on cost, obvs.

Don't like the Trumpeter Sea Fury. Can't put my finger on why, though, apart from the folded wings.

I'm sure I have a decal sheet somewhere with similar Mustangs on it, although I'd planned on either an MB-5 or CA15 as the recipient.

Received today via eBay

1 x 1/72 Academy 12554 ROKAF F-15K "Slam Eagle". It's a bit kiddyish in the fact that some sprues are molded in different colours, Dark Grey mostly with one in white and another in a kind of metalic colour. It's also a sort of snap together kit but it looks really good at the same time.
Bought mainly for the decals as I have kits allocated to all the other operators, well maybe not Singapore but I need to check that. On the whole quite happy with it.

That's the modern model kit standard in Asia. This practice was introduced a couple of years ago with mecha kits, so that the robot models and similar stuff could be built without glue and paint. I also had an Academy T-50 kit some time ago in this fashion - a nice kit with many details, not a dumb snap-fit-thing for kiddies. It just lacked a landing gear...

I have two Trumpeter Sea Furys.  Not built one yet but I have read reviews and been collecting stuff to collect the perceived issues.
Namely the prop blades and the undercarriage.  Some say the spinner is miss-shaped but I can't see it myself.
I don't build planes with folded wings.  They don't look like planes and I can't fly them around the shed like that.

Just had a thought about this. Perhaps they are trying to remove the sprue gates from the edges of parts as that usually causes problems for us modellers when removing or tidying up the gates?

I've opened the box on mine a couple of times and put it back. Looks really nice, but I need to be in the mood to tackle all that detail especially the interior. Not 100% sure about the instructions either, but then I've not gone through them in detail, just browsed as such.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
