800 grit wet and dry..wet sand it..super easy and smooth..that will sort ya problems .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I did all that, and it didn't.  :banghead:

The 'pebble dash' finish seems to have eaten into the canopy quite deeply, very strange. :(

There's no way repeated sanding and Johnson-dipping might save it?

Not as far as I can see. I tried just that many times.

I'm home now, with 3 x Swift FR5s in range, so one of their canopies will be going back for the F10. I have numerous conversions for early Swifts that come with the early metal backed canopy that'll do for them.

Thats annoying Kit but least your not in the pooper ..i bet at some point we've all lost a plane build dew to a knackered canopy and couldnt get a spare.

The F10 now has a proper canopy in place and I can continue with the decaling, trim painting, adding the loadout and final greeblies etc.

I may even have it done by December........  ;D

Don't forget I've another one for you at Telford  ;D
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Well a load out certainly makes it a whiff if nothing else, other than a few F.Mk.7's of course.

Oh yes.  ;D

And thanks so much for getting it for me.

Sadly the F10 now DOESN'T have a canopy as while I was masking it up for the edge painting the whole canopy came right off! It looks like the 'industrial grade' PVA glue I used to attach is nowhere near as good as Glue 'n Glaze, so that'll delay proceedings until I'm home and can get at my pukka tool box again.

After nearly 3/4 year I'm getting back onto the Swift F10 build, not because it's part of a GB, or because I've had some new inspiration about it, I just want to finish it and it's been sitting there for far too long!.

Currently it looks like this :-

Plus all the underwing stores have been built and painted, and the decals have been designed and printed, so the only actual build item left over is the landing gear. It needs a bit of paint trimming done on the main assembly and then some varnishing, but I'm hopeful of getting it all sorted in a week, or ten days time.

You'll note it fulfils almost all of my requirements for a good Whiff as it has extended wings, an extended nose, extended tailplanes and even an extended fin!  ;D

All the paintwork on the F10's done now, and it's had it's first coat of Klear. It may need more, if only to smooth off the pebble-dash finish though. :(

The BAD news is I've just started on my last bottle of Johnson's Klear.  :banghead:

I had thought I'd stocked up on enough of them when they changed to the Euro-formula to last me out, but a) I'm living a bit longer it seems and b) I'm building more, thanks to the GBs we're having here.

I DETEST painting wheels!  :banghead:

It's never ending, you paint the hubs and then the tyres, and the tyre paint runs over the edges of the bubs, so you re-paint the hubs and that paint overruns onto the tyres, .-and so an and so on.

I'm onto the second tyre re-painting of the Swift's wheels now, and hopefully there won't be a third one!

Simples, I like mine sitting on the ground. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment over the wheels. :(
