...Why didn't I think of this before?     

Nose weight can be a pain to hold in, as we all know. I tried putty once; melted a significant amount of fuselage which took more putty to correct. White glue takes time to dry properly, and sometimes comes loose, and usually after the fuselage is closed up. So in doing this F9F Panther, it finally dawned on me: don't glue the weight. The nose cone holds just the right amount, as determined by a taped-together model with fingers at the main gear placement. After squashing some split-shot fishing weights, they were dropped into place and secured with a couple of pieces of sprue, bonded with liquid cement. Other aircraft configurations may make this difficult, but I'll certainly be doing this whenever possible.

Um! (ruffling what's left of my hair) something I've been doing for a while --- sorry Dave.   Another thing I do using those fishing weights, I glue in bit of styrene strip and then slide the weight where it's split at the end over the strip, and then crimp the weight onto the strip.

Some fisherman in the future will be scratching his head when he gets a snag and pulls up a Panther model with a leader and bobber attached ;-)

What's wrong with it being a bit loose?  I like my models to rattle - keeps anyone handling them on on their toes.

My IAC KMD-11 has a socking great tyre weight lodged in the vast fuselage and just needs a 'nose down' tip prior to putting it down on the shelf.

I'm not sure there IS enough glue to hold that weight in place anyway!

My Canberra for the GB has the whole nose filled with heavy glue but still tail sits.  I shall be adding sinkers into the fronts of the nacelles.
Seeing as it comes OOB with a glazed nose i'm not sure what I would have done for a RW build.  Wheels up on a stand I guess.

Not in the A Model 1/144 example which has a very thick walled nose.  There could possibly be space behind the cockpit but it's not accessible since I glued a seat in.  The (1/72) pilot is white metal which will help.

If it works....
People who build flying gliders often seem to put in lead shot (or similar) and fix it in place with epoxy. Epoxy might warm up while reacting, so large amounts in one go might not be ideal with styrene.

If used in a single large enough quantity then epoxy will heat up enough to soften and deform a plastic model.
Don't ask me how I know this.

Point, however the nose wheel bay is behind the cockpit, access through the bomb bay perhaps?

That it possible. However it is all painted and cleared now and I don't want to drill any holes.
The nacelles are currently hollow because I made them from drop tanks and have yet to fill them with black painted foam rubber.  There is plenty of room to add heaviness into them.
Thinking about it I could drill into the nose gear well, pour in heavy glue and then fill the hole and hide the repair with the nose leg.
