From the kitbash experience that I have had the Revell/Matchbox Halifax wings fit on the Avro York's fuselage. The Avro Lancastrian nose and tail cone also fit the kit if anyone is interested.

I have an extra TSR.2 that just happens to be the manga version. While the rockets indeed are useful, the very obviously female pilot figures are more strange than anything else. It seems the Japanese is an extremely sexually frustrated people..

With a little work those pilots can be reposed into a less suggestive posture.  They remain obviously female (albeit in a deformed anime way) and so make a change from male pilot figures.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Quote from: Mossie on September 24, 2022, 12:41:35 PMIt's good to see, Friday 13th markings on one side and Free French on the other. My local(ish) museum, I used to visit regularly but haven't been for about 6 years.

My great-uncle Norman Graham "Doc" Gordon DFC, RCAF was
captain of the fourth crew to fly Friday. He was married to my
paternal grandfather's younger sister.
We talked about his experiences with Friday a few times.

Friday was one of the Mk.IIs that was converted to a Mk.III
while still on the production line as such it still had the shorter
span square-tipped wings. The aircraft was slower and a had
a lower ceiling than the full production Mk.IIIs.

The Wooksta!

Quote from: The Wooksta! on September 23, 2022, 07:09:24 AMTBH, I'd like a few of their kits but have enough in the stash anyway.
One is the Basset, if only for the new decals which are superb, another the Spitfire F22, again for the decals.

Lee - do you mean you're after an Airfix Spit F22 generally or the current repop?

Yep, Basset on my list too, the decals look great.  I've one in the stash from yonks ago - the Royal Flight option - terrible decals but I have a cunning whif plan for that one.

As for candidate Airfix Vintage releases I'd love to see the Cessna O-2 repopped, always liked it, never had one.  The Cherokee Arrow, Skyvan and Islander would tempt me, and I'd probably get another JP5/Strikemaster (subject to the Strikemaster decal options).

The Beaver and F-86D have always been faves but were they to reappear I wouldn't be adding to the ones in the stash.

Plenty of Islanders about from the last release 15 years back.  The Cessna O2 also came out from ARII, and was a close of the Airfix kit. Both are like Rockhouse poo.

Captain Canada

What's the word on the 1:24 Harrier re-release ? Anything new ? Conversely, are there any upgrade kits for it ? I've got one and I've always fancied a real world Falklands bird for display.

I might be last man on this ball, but I got a heads-up via Facebook that the 1/72 Lightning F.2A will be rereleased. Remembering Kit complaining about the availability for Lightnings, this could be good news!

A problem with this is that you don't get the over wing tanks as the F.6 was the only UK variant to carry them. Not sure if the cable ducts are available for the F.6 or the Red Tops are in the F.2A kit either.

IIRC, the F.2A is just that - with no extra parts like optional Red Tops. That was the reason why I did not use mine for the Austrian Lightning in the LHC GB.  :-\  No overwing tanks, either.
