I really can see that one as a 1930's Postal Service aircraft or maybe a VIP Transport, especially with an enclosed pilots cockpit ? Perhaps landing back at Croydon with a certain Mr Chamberlain exiting and waving a piece of paper

in order to use the F105 wings, the problem I had to solve was to find a fuselage with a shape able to welcome the jet exhaust ...

That's about as bizarre a mix as I could ever think of!
