Quote from: kerick on October 08, 2022, 07:02:01 AMFirst pic looks like Marines in the latest camo uniforms that don't blend in with anything.

At least its not as bad as either the Army's UCP or the Air Force's ABU tiger stripe.

Then the Navy had a camo uniform uniform too. They are sailors on a ship for Pete's sake. They could wear a three piece suit and it wouldn't matter. No big deal until you add up the billions spent replacing something that was working just fine. Government at work. Rant mode off now.

Not sure if this qualifies in it's original form since it's a civilian "passenger" vehicle, but you could easily adapt it to freight or military use...

It carries cars as well as passengers therefore it's allowed.
Hmmmmm, I sense a loophole.

No, 'fraid not.  The cars belong to the passengers, and are therefore glorified 'carry on' items.

The cars are "pure passenger carriers" inside another "pure passenger carrier".

Presumably if the plane got abducted by a UFO mid-flight, they'd be pure passenger carriers inside a pure passenger carrier inside a pure passenger carrier. Unless it was one of those combi passenger/mail UFOs, of course... ;)

Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Have it used solely as a cargo plane.

Here's a Canadair CL-44D4 in 1963 preparing to leave Heathrow to fly cars over for the US and Mexican GP.
BOAC leased the aircraft from US carrier Seaboard World Airlines and this was the debut trans-Atlantic
flight BOAC service. The CL-44 was derived from the Brittania.

The Conroy CL-44O Skymonster is a converted CL-44D.

Some of us will be doing an 'F1 car recognition contest' on the cars in that pic.  ;D

Are you sure they aren't scale replica F.1 cars ?  ;D  It does remind you of how small they were
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I've got two Air Vac Form Britannias in the stash, for one I've got the AiM CL-44 conversion to do that swing tail the other my plan (was my plan) to build the Conroy CL-44, got all the parts to do it too, just need to find a local machine shop to resize a bit of 2" ABS pipe for the fuselage.

I've got a Carvair vacuform in the stash too ----

Definitely not, they're from the 1961-1965 1.5 litre engined period, and almost all the cars from then were tiny, specially in comparison with today's monsters, which ironically have the same size engine, or the piston powered part of it anyway.

The ultimate 1.5 litre car was the Lotus 25, the first monocoque chassied F1 car, but that pic pre-dates the 25, and two of its predecessor, the Lotus 24 (now there's a surprise... ;D ) are on the right hand end of the front row.

The then World Champion's car, Graham Hill's BRM P57, is at the right hand end of the rear row, #1 of course, with his co-driver Jackie Stewart's car, #2 being 4th from the right in the front row.

I could go on and on, but I won't.  ;D

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I was thinking about the Range Rover vans.

I don't think that the moderators will allow me to use one of these;

There's always the 1/24 Italeri Range Rover Police or Rally kit.
