Thanks guys.

Phill -the video is from Night Shift. I still don't have the technique down; I think it's a lot harder than he says. I think both The Old Grouch and his Annoying Grandson need to have their skin darkened/tanned - unless they're farming at night above the Arctic Circle.

@perttime - Tractors are fascinating! This one will be towing something... but not a tank

Mate Martin aka Night Shift keeps saying he's new to figure painting and not very good..we are our own worst critics us Model builders but in Martin's case hes full of it...he's a bloody good figure painter and his shading technique and washing is right up there .
He does make it look easier than it is that's for sure cause there's no way I could do it not with my eye sight colour recognition issues..i have a hard enough time with that and with his gentle colour changes..I can't even see the difference .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

I spent waaay too much time on the third figure and it didn't come out that great - certainly no better than with my old technique. This used up my "motivation budget" for this build, so I skipped the groundwork.

He looks a bit like Wolverine:

What's he doing? He's inspecting the thing on Grandpa's field:

This is a Pegasus models "Alpha Centauri scout ship" with a plastic egg top, because I didn't want to finish the interior.

That peshang kid kept falling off the tractor.

The saucer is painted with Vallejo white aluminum, tinted with blue alcohol ink. Some areas are sprayed with Molotow chrome (which is an acrylic):

Oh..... I didn't see that coming.

Good photos too, especially the ones where you get sun and shadows.

Thanks, guys. There is some grass out front, but it would look out of scale. The figure painting technique I tried should have worked - I just have to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

It's a groove thing Frank..you haven't found it yet ..you will that's for sure and once your in it..your sorted.
When it comes to figure painting ive never found the groove..after decades I still suck at painting them..colours look all wrong to me even tho I'm using the right colours.
Trust me matey..you'll get there
