One of my sisters used to live in Upton Park close to West Ham.

Trouble with using pubic transport is that the parking problem can only be shifted out of town.  When I commuted by train/tube/tram/bus etc I could walk to the first mode of transport from home but some people need to drive to a railway station.  I would here if I got a train to work.  And the bus service is pants.

I live in a semi-rural part of Atlantic County.  The minute you get off US40/322/Black Horse Pike, NJ Transit bus service is nonexistent- in fact the buses really only run US 30/White Horse Pike, the aforementioned Black Horse Pike (which also undergoes a whole slew of US and NJ route designation changes between AC and Camden), and between AC, Hamilton Mall and Stockton University.  Which means I have to drive to the train station (20-30 minutes, depending on the morons on the road in the predawn hours).

And when you get there, is there anywhere to park?

Nearest train station from me  is 1/2 hr drive but unless you get there very very early there is nowhere to park without either paying through the nose or hiking long distances from car to station.

There is.  Transit provides the lot for free.  But since no one uses the main line (it's rare for even one car to be filled), there's plenty of parking.

Oh there is a large free car park but it fills up rapidly.

The club theme this month is Heroes. One guy is doing The Ghost of Kyiv and cursing the awful ICM kit included with the superb decals. Another is building the aircraft carrier his dad served on etc.

I chose 'the hero we need, not the one we deserve'... Batman!   Pow! Biff! Ker-Blam!
I was given the 1967 Aurora / Polar Lights kit years ago and it is an easy build. The main issue will be filling the gaps under the wings and in the joints.
The paint options are simple - Black or Silver   ;D

I was actually tempted to do it in a dark blue to match the comics. Even went to Halfords to get some Midnight Blue spray paint. Then I saw the price of a can - £10.99!!  How much?!!   :o

The last time I bought Halfords spray I'm sure it was only £8.99 a can. Mutter mutter Grrrr!

I'm going to finish off the Humbrol Black spray I already have instead.

I do have a can of Humbrol Midnight Blue in the stash but it's nearly empty and I have no idea what I painted that colour. Very strange, maybe the fumes are getting to me?

I think it's a case of "Got" Nick  ;)

I have really enjoyed building the Revell Hunter FGA.9. If I see them at Telford this year I just might grab me a couple more.

The engineering is superb, the fit is fine and it looks just right. Only drawback as I can see is getting the wheel bays together with lots of small parts to cut up and put in *just* the right spot. Obviously it would be easier if I'd done it as in flight but where's the fun in that?

There's also something odd to do with making holes on the wings for antenna but I can live without those.

The ALM aka IPMS London are on the move. Our usual haunt at St Brides put the prices up by an eyewatering amount so we voted with our feet and found a new venue. It does mean a new day as well but it's all for the good.

We are now meeting at the Golden Lane Centre on the Barbican estate, 2nd Thursday of the month. 5 minute walk from Barbican station and there's a few good pubs nearby.

Dr. Griffin

Lucky fellows to have modelling-minded friends nearby.

Glad you found a new venue Nick

My memories of the Barbican go back to before the development and St Barts hospital and student nurses
