A cheap First to Fight 1:72 Sd.Kfz. 231 8x8 Spähpanzer; it's a very simple kit, rather intended for wargaming, but it's solid conversion fodder and will become a missing link between the earlier 4x6 vehicles and the better known later 8x8 vehicles from this family.

Well, while going through my stash recently, i realized i was still missing a "Big Nose" Phantom so, as i needed to buy some Vallejo aluminium and wanted the Tamiya super strong decal setting solution, i decided to add the Hasegawa 1/72 F-4B/N to the order. This will one day join the PoAF F-4F i've built from the Revell kit to have both types side by side in the display cabinet. Also ordered a Hase weapons set to give this Phantom a gun.

Also waiting for a couple of a couple of "special ones" for me... These are the Pegasus 1/72 XP-40Q and the other is the Italeri F-4 Phantom. Both are old and simple kits from the 80s/90s but one is a rare type and kit, and the other is a "trip down memory lane" as it's the same Italeri kit i built back in my childhood. Both should be delivered soon...

P.S.: Just added another Phantom to the "on order" list, a 1/72 F-4J/S "Ferris scheme"...

All of a sudden here in NZ prices for some kits have dropped thru the floor and when you find something you've kinda been wanting it's bloody hard to resist sooo.
1 x Tamiya 48th scale Focke Wulf Fw190 D9...ive had not luck getting a TA 152 I think it's very possible to turn this into the prototype aircraft which is between the D9 and the Ta152.
Kit will like this...longer wings  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

PR19_Kit

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

It's a nice looking aeroplane. I built one a long time ago, not sure if it was the Pegasus kit (wasn't the Planet one fore sure) but I need to check. Would look good in immediate post war Portuguese markings.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

These 2 arrived this morning from the Big H. Hopefully have them done for Telford

Sure is! And it's frustrating that this bird is overlooked by model companies. But i know, not a famous variant of the P-40 and wouldn't sell many copies and all that but, it's a beauty. Especially the XP-40Q-3 with a more streamlined canopy, which is the one i want to build.
I've been buying a few 1/72 WWI era fighters that have more than enough bubble canopies to donate one to the cause. ;)
Regarding Portuguese markings, may well happen and would look great indeed but it's not my main concern. First i'll try to find a suitable canopy, and if the white metal parts are shoddy, maybe a prop and landing gear.
Will also get 4 20mm cannons in place of the 4 .50 cal MGs for a bit more punch...

Very excited about my new additions....shhhh don't tell Kit, our interests overlap in a few areas.....

1/144 HobbyCraft GRB-36, with RF-84 and XF-85 Goblin FICON fighters.  Been wanting this for years.
1/72 Mach 2 RB-57H
1/72 Zvezda SS-25 transporter/launcher

1/144 GRB-36.  1/72 A-4 Skyhawk for Scale.  XF-85 Goblin and trapeze lower left. RF-84 FICON lower right

1/72 RB-57H, P-51 for scale- a big wing!  Looks typical Mach2 with limited detail, but what's not to like!? Anyone have a review?

Sort of, I built one pretty much OOB apart from a few 'Brit' additions for one of the GBs last year.  It's this thread here

Tell me you don't look at those Peacemaker wings and think "scaleorama 1/72 flying wing recce bird"?
I reckon the Goblin fuselage is about the same size as the fish oil capsules I swallow every morning.

I went to the LHS today to buy some sheet styrene and was so worried by their low stock levels on the shelves that I felt compelled to help out by spending money.  I got this which had been there so long the price label had faded to illegibility.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Must admit my first thoughts were of a 1/144 (or maybe a 1/288) strategic bomber, but they were coming from the same section of the brain as yours.

Quite useful when showing the latest additions to the other half  ;)
