How much is the selling price?

I'm asking C$40.00 because it will come with a detail set that was available as extra. Postage is extra, but remember it's in a fairly large box and will be coming from Alberta.

I've built 2 of the Revell ones. The big thing to tackle is RIVETS!, which, if scaled up, would be like tennis balls. The seam at the front, where the nose lifts, is very noticeable unless you just fill it and forget it. The wing floats are a bit fiddly to get into position, when sanding down the rivets don't erase the locating points. The horizontal stabiliser is a one piece, and if care isn't taken it can set on an angle. You can add a bit of detail by drilling out some of the portholes on the sides and filling them with white glue. No flight deck transparencies provided, so you'll also need to fill them with white glue.

Thanks Ratty, I think that I had one of the vacuum kits before but one of the engines and wings was damaged. My experience building vacuum kits of this size is very limited, so I think that I will pass and leave it to the experts.

Just started the building process, fuselage, rear tail plane and wings glued on. I dry tested the stand but I can't get to balance the rest of the model.
I'm thinking of an amphibious version and buying another kit as the stand would make an ideal platform for a AWACS variation.

Brain hurting why not use a piece of polystyrene as the base for a water/sea scene. Makes sense. I have some blue acrylic paint. Job done.

With my backstory I had them refitted with the Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba, a little less power but much more reliable.

Right got the balance sorted out by adding the nose, I'm now thinking turbofans for the engines. Got a donor build that I can swap over from turbofan to contra-rotating turboprops.
Those rivets are smoother.

Touch down the Convair Tradewind R3Y-5 amphibious turbofan variant. I have inserted a battery to provide ballast for the new landing gear. It also sports a revised nosed loading hatch  which is just opening revealing it's cargo.
I have managed to find the decals from the 1/72 Combat Kit BAe Tempest they are small enough for this model.

Watch that battery for leakage over time, you could end up with a sorry mess... a lad in the junior modellers made that error a while back... might be better to substitute something else, even if it means hacking a hole to get it out again. Just saying.

Yup, old batteries can be very nasty

It's a new battery, besides after this build I will turn it into an AWACS platform and remove the battery.
