Afternoon all,

So I need the help of the What If? Collective to identify these 2 platforms, pse.

Firstly, a Flying Thing: You cannot view this attachment.

Secondly, a Stick ac or weapon kit You cannot view this attachment.

As HISSing Sid said in the late '80s, all contributions gratefully received! You cannot view this attachment.

The flying thing should be a Vickers Type 725 Red Rapier flying bomb.

The resin bits and pieces look like a ramjet missile to me - something like a Bloodhound missile?

PR19_Kit

I think the missile's an IM-99 Bomarc .

Revell and Monogram have done it in 'fit the box' scales, but I reckon yours is Belcher Kits 1/72 one.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Looking at the Bomarc on Scalemates I agree with Kit that it's the Belcher Kit, question is which one of the three or four boxings they released it is?

I also agree with Dizzy

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

The Red Rapier is likely the Belcher Bits kit as well.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Brilliant🤗. Thanks to you all for your steers, and at least I know that the random bits that I unearthed in Layer 3 of my Dad's modelling detritus are identifiable.

Thanks especially to @Mossie for the link to the Red Rapier piccies and poster: a SAM that looks like a balsa wood glider - nice!

Perhaps you should re-read that post as the plackard says surface to surface not surface to air.

Revell and Monogram have done it in 'fit the box' scales, but I reckon yours is Belcher Kits 1/72 one.
Aurora also did Bomarc in 1/48th scale, and it's pretty accurate in shape, it was boxed as just the
missile and with the erector/launcher.

I have this original boxing, purchased at an old shop/general in Kelso, Washington around 1980.
The store was a weird place that was usually shuttered but the old guy would sporadically open
up, my friend Mark and I went one time when he happened to be open. He had some models and
I found the Bomarc along with two 1/48 X-15 Satelloid Rocket Plane kits and three original Revell
kits - 727, DC-8 and B-47, along with Lindbergh Cellovision box versions of their 707, Caravelle and
DC-8. Mark got some other kits that I don't recall and we were charged the original prices printed
on the boxes.
;D

The Bomarck is the Belcher kit. I made one a few years ago, as a A101 Bomarc RAAF

I like that launcher Brian!

I've got one, but I'll have to modify it to carry a Sharkit Navaho missile.

Its a bit lightweight for that.  It would be better to scratchbuild a heavy duty one for the Navaho.

Might be above my skill level, but the Bomarc launcher will act as good inspiration anyway.
