It will be an invaluable resource for when I eventually start on that 1/350 scale model I plan to build sometime in the future. T

But have you got the 44 ton artic you'll need to take the model to shows?  ;D ;)

Uh......no. Even if I do eventually build the model, I highly doubt it would go to any shows. I have a friend who has a pickup truck, but I don't think the back bed is big enough. At 1/350 scale, a Habakkuk model is about 69 inches long (Almost 6 feet.). At that length, it would have to be split in 2 for it to be transported. Add in the dimensions of the display bases the 2 pieces sit on plus whatever storage containers they are packed in, and I'm very confident the whole thing will NOT fit in the back of my friend's truck. But I'm being a bit pessimistic right now. I haven't even built the damn thing yet.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

Not sure how long I've stored that snippet, but hey - there's a pub quiz somewhere waiting for my answer.

Long time, no post. Not much has been going on lately. Got a few models semi-done sort to speak.

1. Through the majority of September, I started building a 1/144 scale B-52H and B-1B bombers. Painted them both in modern USAF gunship gray color. Only thing I have to do on both of them is buy new decals for both, and find someone to paint the cockpit canopies on both of them for me as my eyesight can't handle those small pieces.  Also built a 1/144 scale B-2 stealth bomber too. All 3 aircraft will most likely end up as a large future USAF bomber display for next year sometime.

2. Had two small 1/144 scale German MAUS tank models. Decided to do something humorous with them and bought some mouse traps for them. Unsure whether I will just leave them as is for display or whether I will create a larger diorama scene for them.

3. Currently at work on building TAKOM's 1/72 scale USS Missouri 16" gun turret No.1 which will be converted into the USS Iowa 16" turret No.2 for a special memorial to honor the 47 sailors who died in the April 1989 turret explosion.

To whif, or not to whif a Battlestar? That is the question.
I've been on a Battlestar Galactica building binge the last several days.  ;D
Long ago, I bought the following:
3x Moebius Models 1/4105 scale 1970's era Battlestar Galactica
1x Moebius Models 1/4105 scale 2004 tv series Battlestar Galactica
1x Moebius Models 1/4105 scale 2004 tv series Battlestar Pegasus

Long, long ago when Moebius came out with their 1970's era Galactica, I knew that kit was going to be insanely popular and people would buy it up like crazy. Long ago, I bought three of them. I was going to build one as is, and then use the other two kits to create a kitbash of sorts of a Battlestar with four flight pods instead of two. Well, the kitbashed Battlestar idea failed when I screwed up cutting and modifying some parts. So...........I took what parts were left over and built another standard BSG on the far left in one of the photos. One minor (or major) difference with this BSG is that there's a second bridge module on the head slightly behind the first as shown in one of the pics if you look closely. If my 4 flight pod BSG would have worked, this second bridge module would have been for flight operations for the Vipers, while the regular original bridge module was for regular ship functions and navigation. So what am I going to do with this 4th extra BSG? The only thing that comes to mind right now is add some 2004 tv series BSG type gun turrets on it and do a what if type ship if this type of Battlestar had existed in the 2004 tv series instead of the 1970's tv series.

Also, again using up some spare Battlestar Galactica parts from the failed BSG project mentioned above, I started building yesterday afternoon what I call a "Frankenstein Galactica". It'll be a lot shorter. So think of it as a small frigate or scout type Battlestar. Not sure where I'll attach the flight pods.

Oh, and lest I forget, at least one of the original 1970's era Battlestar Galactica kits I plan to add very tiny anti-fighter turbolaser gun turrets to it.
As shown in the pic below, these are actually 1/700 scale guns from an old naval ship kit I had. They are about 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the 2004 tv series gun turrets found on the Galactica and Pegasus kits. Whereas the gun turrets from the 2004 tv series are meant for anti-ship combat, the smaller ones I have are for anti-fighter defense. I have about 60 or so of them and will be adding them all over the model..............provided I don't lose too many of them to the carpet monster since they are so small. :(

Nice to see the 'Grey Lady' getting some action.
I don't know if they are the same things you already have there, but I found a heap of turrets and stuff for these kits on Shapeways one time.

The 'Shorty' looks a bit like the Voyager.

A couple of suggestions.  The computer game Deadlock takes place during the First Cylon War, and has the TOS Galactica as an early battlestar.  So there's an option right there.  As for your ScoutStar, single (or, if you do want to use both flight pods, siamesed) along the ventral centerline.
