Nothing new to show at the moment, the weekend was very busy. However, the upper fuselage half will become red soon.

Gondor

I'm just hoping that you masked the windows of the gondola before you painted it white!  :-\

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Sure. All done with Maskol, worked better than expected, and I was even able to leave the "fake" bracings on the ventral gondola free. Not certain about the success so far, though.

Some very interesting whiffery going on here....It's completely out of the box and that's a good thing!
Love to see it painted and all dressed up...

Dizzy's 'slow' is everyone else's 'Lightning Fast'!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

More slow progress, the CraneCobra fights back, First, the red (Humbrol 19) refused to dry for almost three days, and then the cheatline decals (from a Begemot 1:72 Ka-32 sheet) turned out to be poorly printed and brittle, almost ESCI-esque (and unusual for the company, from my experience). I had to improvise and correct flaws with read and white decal strips, and with some company logos the thing starts to look very civilized.

 I love the cabin under the nose.
Yes, I have seen such position elsewhere but the idea to install it on a small aircraft is very inspiring. Maybe I will draw P-51 or/and P-38 like that, not for this GB but for fun in my collection of drawings. Thanks! (I will write "idea dizzyfugu" of course).

Here's the original, for reference, on the Mi-10K, and it shows how HUGE it is in comparison with the slender AH-1:

Pretty unique arrangement, even though the CH-64 also had a rearward-facing station, but it was smoothly integrated into the rear of the cockpit section and less obvious:

Besides, things keep moving rather slowly, detail paiting (e.g. the cabin bracings, tires, rotors) has started. I will also most probably omit the planne Mi-10-esque auxiliary tanks low on the hull, because they obscure the company logos.

Tophe

Thanks for the reference photographs.
Your own cabin is the most funny of them all. ;D

A Cobra with wheels, and a Kaman without intermeshing rotors.... Maybe just say it's a Bell product?

And you've already done a great job painting it - but several Cobras are used for fire spotting - this could be like a CH-54 firefighter (but then that wouldn't be logistics)

I don't mean for any of this to sound negative - you are the master of whatif
