Wit the Peacemaker, if it's too close to the tin roof, I'd be concerned about the radiant heat from the roof warping the model.
Though if you have a ceiling there, it would be ok.

I forgot about the Mitchell's UC doors.  They have to be painted and attached.

I spent most of the day loading up with essential xmas provisions.  It was hell. I hate shopping at this time of year.  People are so rude and pushy.
I did manage ge an hour at the bench though.
I opened up the YF-16 and started looking through my wing box to see what I had that could replace the normal ones.
F-104 wings are an option, although Kit won't be happy as they are shorter than stock.

Shock! Horror!  :-\
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Well, having re-winged two Starfighters I have their wings left over.

I have also offered up other wings including F-102, Gnat, and EE Lightning.

I don't have any.  And if I did I would be tempted to put them on an F-104.

I think I know what I shall be using (you'll be pleased to know they are longer) but I won't be sure until i've done some glueing and cutting and offered them up.

Ooooh, perfect parts for a X-Wing! ;)

A short winged one, yes.

Today I got a clear run at the bench and so tackled one of the jobs which needed time to complete.
I polished the '57 Chevy body, foiled it, touched up some gaps in the foil, painted the quarter lights with metaliser (they are complete buggers to foil - I paint them now.  Much easier), and painted the interior of the body.  It is now ready for windows and interior to be fitted.

So the YF-16 will be getting...

<drum roll>

...mustang wings.

They look pretty darn suitable too, that crank in the leading edge goes well with the LERXs of the 'normal' F-16 wing.

Those Mustang wings almost look as though they could be fully extended "swing wings".
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Nice

So will the Mustang be getting F-16 wing's complete with Sidewinders?

Alas, there is no Mustang*.
These wings are left over from building the Mitsuberican KP5146 Bitang which used parts from a Hasegawa P-51D

Wings are glued to the YF-16.  There is a huge difference in thickness at the root.  Lots of putty will be required to blend profiles.

*Not strictly true, there are a couple in the stash but they will not be getting F-16 wings.
