I'd have avoided that stalky landing gear like the plague, but you mad it work a treat.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Well, I was in the lucky situation to have an Airfix Kamov Ka-25 at hand which is/was earmaked to be converted some day and lose its landing gear, anyway. However, I can hardly think of any other suitable donor for this build stunt, and it worked nicely. Glad you like the result!  <_<
