Is there a current medical bulletin affixed to the  family residence railings concerning Miss Pellson's ankle injury?  We would hope that it is suitably recovered by now and she is restored to her usual athletic self!

As the dear Mrs Pellson is more than familiar with similar husband memory loss of functions as the equally dear Mrs Rheged is, I can't for sure say whether I've already disclosed the full recovery of Ms Pellson's ankle. Luckily, it was a not too serious strain rather than anything else, but at least it kept her reasonably local for a few days. 

The Pellson family as a whole (Mrs, Mr, three younglings, one dog, one outdoor cat and two Land Rovers) would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind well wishes, send similar in return and finally hope to do this all over again in a year from now.

Packing to move out to the archipelagean cottage for a few days, meaning that I have to select a kit or two to bring. In a move of unequalled dare and bravery, I'm bringing the old Airfix Valiant B.2, nursing a faint hope that I'll finally dare to cut the wings for the Tupolev landing gear fairings, something I've been avoiding for a good few years now. 

Staying on the subject of recklessness, courage and bravery bordering on stupidity, as an alternative, I'm bringing the MACH 2 Comet C.4 as well, planning a relaxing and joyful week. What can possibly go wrong with that.. 

Well - what DID go wrong was me catching something with the fuel dump pipe at the port wingtip of the half built Valiant, and accordingly ripping half said b100dy wing tip off. That seriously took some mojo away!

Anyway - the weather is awful and the family wants to coze in and watch films, so sod that kit for now. When I get some lust back, I'll either reconstruct it or just cut it's sibling off as well, replacing with some ECM stuff you'd need if wanting to bomb Kaliningrad from 30 ft a dark night in March 1978 anyway..

Tomorrow - relocation back home. Thank God we drove the Defender and not the Jag as the weather still keeps throwing snow at us. 

Tomorrow evening, we're off to the cinemas to have a glance at the new Avatar film by request from the youngest. Looking forward to it, tbh. I like cinemas. Could have one of my own, actually. If I ever get to build that Land Rover workshop, maybe I should get a projector and a hefty screen up there as well, together with a nice sound system and a few ridiculously comfortable chairs. Ah, well..  dreaming is nice...

Speaking of dreaming - looking at the weather forecast on telly tonight, I found myself looking at the GIUK gap and the Norwegian Sea. While the single RNoAF interceptor Sqn (no 331 Skv) flew their F-104's from Bodø in northernmost Norway, the Norwegian Sea is vast, the Sqn only had 16 airframes and the Starfighter was, as most Cold War M2 interceptors, not that long legged. And the next interceptor Sqn was no 57 FIS USAF on Keflavik, Iceland. That's a helluva lot of airspace for two sqns..

I think RNoAF could have had use for something with more "presence capacity" over that big area. Like a Sqn of F-101's for instance. Just to keep the Svalbard area routinely covered as well. Will have a Stash^TM dig to see if there is a Voodoo lurking about..

While at it, wouldn't you have wanted something on the Faroes, and even Greenland as well? Like a Sqn of F-102's at Vàgar with a permanent detachment over at Greenland or so? I do have one of those old Hasegawa Delta Daggers lying about, I'm pretty sure.  Methinks the Danes could do well with something more interceptory over the north  Atlantic than the two Starfighter eskadrilles at Aalborg.

If I ever get around to finish something, that is..

Yes, yes it was.  And we only had a similar number of F-15Cs on hand (92-93).

It's amazing how something seemingly so trivial can really get to you, and it's not just us modellers. I've known gardeners who get frustrated when they get one plant in a row of the things slightly out of line and seamstresses who were furious when they "dropped" a stich

I like that idea. I can just imagine the sound track as a couple of Daggers blasted off on a QRA out between those rock faces at Vagar!

It's a seriously cool airfield, Vàgar. The entire Faroes is as well, come to think of it. But the weather is.. not equally exciting..

Dead tired today for no apparent reason. But it happens. Such is my life after the first chemotherapy I got some six years ago, so I'm more annoyed than worried. The weather, intensely grey and foggy with intermittent rain, temps hovering around 3 C, isn't helping much either. And one of the Defenders broke down (again) yesterday, something I really should have attacked thins morning but for my tiredness and the weather. Bleh...

Ah, well. There'll be better ways ahead, methinks.

Thinking a bit more, it might be that a new idea/project is exactly what's needed to shoo away the apathy. Maybe I should go looking for that F-102? 
Or maybe i should find, or just make, some space on the workdesk to actually work on it before I collect it from the Stash^TM? There's like eight more or less completed models there as we speak, not counting that sodding Valiant with a handicap.

Too right! I flew into there in the 80s aboard a BAe-146, and the whole place astonished me! It was as if it had been dug out of the solid rock!
