No backstory with this one, it's worn me out. I am very pleased with some of the stuff I accomplished with this. Lots of masking to avoid having long thin decals breaking. Some fairly good (for me) freehand painting of a lot area around the nose.  Recovering some decals from potential disaster.

There were troubles. I should have firmly installed the gear doors before attaching the wings, access wasn't easy after they're on. I should have located the boom operator station a little further back and up the curve, the gear is short and it would receive a few bashes during hard landings.

But it's done, and one more cleared for take-off to the shelf.

The kit is the 1/200th product from Dragon, and it's quite nice. The Starlifter is an attractive aircraft, and I think this product does it justice. It was originally going to be a 'real world' example, but when I found a 1/200th KC-10A by Hasegawa, inspiration hit. Let's face it, it isnt a common scale, and to find two aircraft that scale is like a gift you can't pass up. Base colour is good old Tamiya Fine White primer, the others are Revell Aqua. Leading edges are AK True Metal paste. Decals obviously came from the KC-10A the only one used from the Dragon sheet is the marking ahead of the refueling point.

I haven't put a clear coat on, didn't want to take the chance of it ruining the whole thing and seeing all that work go for naught.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Very nice. I will admit to dreaming of RAF Starlifters when I was a kid.

Very nice indeed, love the aircraft and the scheme.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Nice

Painted the way it is has made me wonder about a C-141 as a alternate Air Force One...

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It's a  beauty !  Please may I have  your permission to have a go at producing  a backstory which I hope will be a tribute to a really  first rate piece of modelling?.................I'm only "barely adequate"  with styrene, but wrangling language comes much easier to me.

Wondering why Lockheed didn't do that for real, and realised that the C-141 was only KC-135 sized anyway so wouldn't have offered any advantage over the existing USAF tankers.

But it does look a lot better.  ;D
