Gondor

This is my entry for the 1950's Group Build.

I have all the parts to make the model and some decals that will be used, I have also ordered the main decals for the build. As the Group Build has not started this is mainly a place holder.

Just a question: who is Jim?

It's a parady of a quotation from Star Trek "It's Life Jim but not as we know it!"

Tophe.  Jim is James Tiberius Kirk.  Captain of the Constitution class starship USS Enterprise NCC1701 of the United Federation of Planets.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I might rename my Bathroom Jim, so I can say that every morning I go to the Jim.  ;D

IIRC, "It's Life Jim but not as we know it!" is a quote from Mr. Spock from the original TV series, episode "The Devil in the Dark ".

Another frequent and very popular TOS quote: "He's dead, Jim".  ;) So, never wear a red shirt!

There speaks a true Trekkie.  ;D  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Gondor

It will not be a model of the NCC-1701 with floats. Sorry to spoil anyone's hopes with the thread drift and all that

The life in question is a Horta.  It is "not as we know it" because it is a silicon (rather than carbon) based life form.
The Horta has been killing miners in a mining colony.  Spock mind melds with it and discovers that it is doing this because the miners had been taking its eggs.

It's been a while with no progress on this build. In fact I deliberately didn't do anything because I was waiting on knowing that the decals I needed were available. I received an email today saying that the decals were available so I have purchased a set and they will be on their way from Poland soon so I know they will be here by the end of the Group Build so I can comfortably start the build.

I was just wondering about an Enterprise with the warp nacelles mounted on the bottom as floats.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Sort of Battleship Yamamota or whatever it is?

I suppose it would he the inverse of that.  Obviously not your plan but good fodder for future inspiration!
