Were we ever? I cannot remember the source, but there's the quote "Local peace is war elsewhere."

Don't forget playmates that events other than wars and conflicts took/could have taken place in the fifties.

For example;
Man landed on Mars.
The first atomic hover cars.
A Transatlantic Tunnel (hurrah!).
Renaissance of the Zeppelin.
Rise of the Robots.
Birth of the Hell's Angels.
Hot Rods!
Land Rovers.
Cars with fins.
Monorails.
Elvis.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Some of your list even did.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Been wanting to build my Azur Vautour for ages. Musing on the UK and French actually co-operating with each other through the 50's and the French adopting Canberra's in high to medium altitude roles and the RAF adopting the Vautour in the low altitude strike role. Could also have been used as an all weather fighter until the Javelin arrived. This of course depends on it entering service a few years earlier than it actually did ,1958,  which it might have done if it was an Anglo/French project.

The Belgians evaluated the Vautour IIN along with the F-89D, and Javelin when they ended up with the CF-100

I have that Glencoe 3 stage Rocket Ship in my stash that would suit the era well.

Also in my stash: F3H Demon, F11F Tiger, Shackleton, Sea Vixen, Javelin, Jet Provost, MB.5, Gnat, Stalwart.

Not sure if it's still true, but IIRC, the longest period when there's been no active, shooting war going on anywhere in the world since WWII was a period of a few months in 1968... ('Nam was on a ceasefire at the time).

Cars with fins.

Seeing those three together gives me a mental image of a flamboyant fins'n'chrome US car with a souped-up engine, but fitted with off-road suspension with big chunky tires and spattered in mud... ;D

From a thread on Britmodeller:

QuoteAccording to Adrian Balch's book on the subject the "Raspberry Ripple" scheme was introduced in 1976 to standardise various colour schemes used by the various MOD departments.

So I guess thats a no for this exercise then.

Unless your timeline has it introduced in the 1950s on 1950s aircraft! ;)

Back in the 50s the RAE used a number of different hi-viz schemes though, all of which are pretty attractive.

There's a book on them called 'Testing Colours', which I have, but I'm not at home just now. Well worth getting hold of if can find one.

There's two copies on ebay right now, and VERY cheap too, like £3.11!  :o

This one? It says: from 60's. Is there 50s stuff in it too so you remember?

PR19_Kit

I think so, yes.

But in any case it's a lot easier to 'time shift' a 60s scheme to the 50s, than it is an 80s or 90s scheme.
