Late entry with this, but you never know, with a bit of effort I might get done by the deadline

Kit is the Italeri 1/72 Go242/244

The Go-244 is a twin-boomer and I like it.
as the source is a Go-242/244 kit (0/2 engine), I would suggest for instance as whif possibility a Go-243 asymmetric single-engine cargo: Go-242 on the port side, Go-244 on the starboard side, no?
See below near the top right:

Thanks Tophe - I have a spare engine from a Me262 which is going to be  [hopefully] mounted on a  pylon on the roof

This is a good project too, congratulations!

I tried building that kit, good luck.

Thanks McC - I think I will dispense with the opening tail section and fix it in one position

Pellson

I built that OOB as a glider companion to my old He-111Z many years ago, and I actually made that opening rear work nicely. And I'm by no means even close to be the best builder here.
While glueing it shut will be the easy way out, you can always do that AFTER you have tried building it working.
Godspeed.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Progress has been made:

Now I need to decide on an operator - the spare decal box may help with that

Like this? I am not sure about the jet position but the need to open the rear part freely seems the key:

Thanks Tophe - I agree on the position of the jet engine being a bit low. I suspect the whole project was scrapped very shortly after the first time the engine was ignited

Yes, cancelled projects are welcome for us what-ifers! No need of success to be built as scale model! Difference is fun and this is good enough for us!

WSK CSS-9 Операция «Наковальня  [Operation Anvil]

In 1947, as part of a larger operation by the Soviet Union to occupy the rest of Germany, Denmark and the Low Countries following the drawdown of American and British Armed Forces in the aftermath of the 1946 defeat of Nazi Germany, the newly formed Polish Air Force was tasked with seizing control of the Danish island of Bornholm.
For this the Polish Paratroop Assault Regiments were issued with an updated version of the Gotha 244 built as the CSS-9 by WSK [formerly PZL], to allow the Paratroops to land with heavier equipment.
The CSS-9/Gotha 244 was powered by two Tumansky M-88 engines with an additional pylon mounted RD-10 jet engine to supply additional power on take-off.

Hahaha great stuff. I wonder what the effect of the jet was at mid or full power on its vertical stability. Must have been quite a handfull.
