finished 2 more of the pipe stacks, and 2 more of the sprue stacks. and the large objective / rally base that i was doing of the 80s Brits.
3 figures 2 models and 4 bits of scenery

Ive got some flesh on the 80s brits and will need to pull out my list o paints for doing the uniforms.  and had a good look at the Falcon 40, the engines for it are different shapes to the spares i have, not massively but suitably, so tomorrow im going to get the dremmel and grinding tool out, and carefully start removing plastic on the mount,  get that to fit reasonably well i can ten copy it to the other 3 parts and jobs a good un,  they will be attached to the inner engines by pins as well as normal cementing

my powered screwdriver that i was going to use to  grind out the plastic isnt holding charge  :banghead:    admitedly i think it may be something like 5 years since its been used ( yep that long, for reasons..)  and wile it does seem to be coming back to life a little with multiple charges, it means that im not scratching the modelling itch, so i bit the bullet and started chain drilling with my pin vice and a suitably fine bit.....  both half's of one engine shroud are now done and are good enough to fit and will only need a wipe of putty when done, ill do the other a bit later.
flesh and the camo base of buff are on all 8 infantry figs, along with a quick brown ink wash to give a bit of depth / variation of shade  <_<    so happy there as well.

and it seems i cant evan remeber to read titles properly is a Falcon -10 that im working on not a 40  doh!

Ty Narses

oh dear is me...  someone on britmodeler has gotten hold of the hobbyboss 1:35 scammell commander, and started a build ....   i will have to start saving, i have seen the price  :o  ( insert weeping face smiley here),  and from the bits they have put up so far im less than impressed with the quality,  missing slots on parts, some parts are to large for the area they are supposed to go into,  but its the only sane price in town, and under half the price of the accurate armour kit,

going well on the Falcon, as it was pre owned ( and started, score!)   i have got along quickly, the interior was assembled, and the cockpit painted, the entry and seating area, are now painted,  and wile it was ready to close the fuselage halves, i had a thought, and decided to be proactive,  Nose weight  :o   with the extra engines on the back this would bee needed, and there is a good bit of space in said nose,  so i got out the green stuff, and one of the most dangerous bits of model making stuff ive got, the ex-fishing lead shot, and i am using the correct term, it was my late fathers when he was a lad, so is in no way state or form anything but ole Pb.  some of it was carefully  added to the green and slogged into the nose, and then i vary carefully vacuumed round the desk and washed hands, Paranoid,  perhaps, but we have 3 cats, and i know that anything that hits floor will be found by them.
the hull has had some putty smeared on the join, and will be left to cure, then PSR will commence.
for paint scheme im thinking pale blue, with darker blue pond splodges, and J-APAN as the tail code the Kit itself come with appropriate roundels.

had to do a bit of stash moving today,  were having some work done on the house a week monday and they will need access to the outside wall of the modelling room, in the area that my immediate action stash is, as opposed to under my computer desk where the DO IT NOW stash is  :o , so that had to go into the attic, including finding the 1:48 italeri eurofigther typoon box has an etch set in it  :o   domt remember that, and the fact i got it 2nd hand for a tenner   ;D
The main wings and tail planes are on the falcon, ill have to drill and sub-assemble the engines next
yay progress and fun

Neat find.  Some recent Italeri kit repops have had etch included I think ?

Narses,  someone elses separately purchased set, hence rather a surprise to find it, there is a possibility the etch set is worth more that i payed for the kit  :o

In other news  the Falcon is together bat the wheels and antenna, so is now getting blue paint put on it,  there may well be a correct paint number for the colour but i dont have any,  what i do have is Game Workshop Calagar Blue for the light colour, and their Macragge blue for the bark blue,  good enough for me... and if any one complains i will point to the extra 2 engines on the back, and raise a questioning eyebrow, and go " what part of Kit bashed, dont you understand?"  if im feeling polite,  or possibly  just gales of laughter if im not   :banghead:

ive got 3 coats on some parts of the falcon and its still streaky in places....  :banghead:
so ive decanted the workshop paint into a small Tamiya pot and Mrs SP has lent me her Cryla Coeruleum tube paint, so 2 good squeezes of that have been added to give a bit of density to the colour, just got to mix it in well now..

the franken-paint is better,  not perfect, but much much better,  so it looks like another 3` wargames model is born      its not a problem its a feature
it meqans that i can get on with trying to finish it for the next club meeting ( week sat) and the WMMS show at Aldersly  (  12 march)  so i think it may be that and the peanut painted a-10 engine lear with possibly some of my challenger rebuilds to get the whiffs on the table  ;D

and once again Mrs SP and i have found that the Gods find work for idle minds.

to the tune of Blurs  Parklife.... Park run    " i get up when i want, except for Saturdays when i a rudely interrupted by the joggers!"   ...
and to the tune of Blue Oyster Cults Godzilla    the tale of a giant lizard destroying the west country,    " Oh no, there goes westward ho!,  go go Godzilla "

the darker blue is on and things are starting to come together, ive got the ECM pod mounted on a pylon, and neeed to work out where that will go under the wings, wheels and bay covers, and then get the decals on, main door outline, emergency door outline and wing marking, then national insignia, one on top and bottom of the wings, flags on each side of the cockpit, and some serial numbers on the engines.   then varnish and add the front windscreen.  feeling good
