I'm seriously thinking about this one. A late one in overall EDSG as part of my Eagle in the Falklands TL, and an RAF one in Hemp/Light Aircraft grey.

I think £35 a pop (inc. UK delivery) - the postage and resin prices have crept up a bit but I think I can still do kits for that ballpark. The smaller kits I'll need to revise a bit as postage is a larger proportion of the costs on them

In getting back to my feet I've dared to actually build some models out of conventional polystyrene. Of relevance to this here site I have an Avro Z.101, Hawker P.1091 and Supermarine Type 510 all in progress at 1/72. Supermarine is a. Inversion of an already built Attacker which I was given, Z.101 is using the Airfix Blue Steel parts and Delta Hunter is based on an Airfix FGA.9

The Avro Z.101 with a slight difference to the excellent one @Mossie did a few years back. I've followed the description in Chris Gibson's Vulcan's Hammer book so it loses the anhedral outer sections of the wing and gains a couple of underwing vertical fins







With a tips of the hat to @crudebuteffective and @PR19_Kit for the missile parts and photo reference point decals respectively

P.s. On the side view there the paint seems awfully patchy in the photo but that doesn't show up in real life, not sure quite what the morning light revealed there

I mainly referenced the general arrangement drawings in Vulcan's Hammer but the drawings I used as a backdrop were from https://hushkit.net/2020/04/13/britains-budget-x-15-or-manned-blue-steel/ and scaled to 1/72

Excellent pocket rocket-plane!  I've got a lot of love for the Z.101 concept.  I took it to the Cosford show once, a guy from the Avro museum spotted it for what it was and explained it came quite close to being built with a lot of detail design being carried out.

There's a good article in the British Interplanetary Society Space Chronicle, it details a launch site at Woomera.  It would have been a hot ship to land, so a parawing (similar to that trialled for Gemini) was planned for a gentler return to earth.

I read about the parasail, I wondered if it would go into the fairing behind the canopy so I took the liberty of extending it a little and starting the taper further back to allow for more volume there

I've just got it down from the shelf.  It's "UK Spaceplanes", Vol.59, Suppl. 2, 2006.   It's long out of print but was available as a download for a time, although I couldn't find it on the BIS website today.
