Tell me about it.  I've just assembled and started painting two sidewinders and 18 Mk 82s for a SLUF.  That was more than enough.

You're right. I forgot that I got two AIM-9P's with some spares I bought a while ago.

The weather has brought ice cold mornings but rather nice and sunny days allowing for some fiddling around with the Land Rover. Annoyingly, it's resisting me a bit so not much progress. But sod it - eventually it'll budge.

The Danish Hun has now had its fuselage sealed up, and the main landing gear covers are glued in. Intake and exhaust are painted and added as well. There's still some minor touching up in the cockpit, but as said - minor. And well reachable from the outside.

Looking at adding the wings, I've found the port wing somewhat warped which is a problem. Having ruined a perfectly good Monogram F-105 with hot water once, I'm not going down that route again, so maybe I'll just glue the halves together and clamp it up. Not as straightforward as hoped, methinks. I'll have to have a good think on this.

But that's for another day.

The Defender did budge. A very pleasant experience indeed.

Colder weather today, but not cold enough for me to stay indoors. As we're going to Stockholm tomorrow for a concert, and it's 2 1/2 hrs drive each way, there will be a certain amount of night driving. Hence, the Jaguar needed some lighting attention, and that got sorted too. Electrical faults are actually quite often easier to fix than expected.

Also unpacked my latest procurements, and I'm pretty happy about the C-97. As hinted in the Stash^TM thread, it's intended to become a near RW whif, and one that I've looked at for quite some time. The Academy kit looks to be a good kit too. Not overly complicated but still clear and crisp molds.
While that ICM Foxbat looks very nice indeed too, it's an entirely different story when looking at the quite complicated in its parts breakdown. Quite the opposite to this old Super Sabre I'm fiddling with now.

Speaking of which, the Danish Hun is now significantly closer to mechanical completion. As there's some PSR left, I haven't glued in the canopy just yet, and the same goes for protruding parts like pitot, drop tanks and pylons. The ECM pods on the wing tips are there, though. I had a few surplus ACMII pods that fitted the bill with some easy modifications.

But, as said, concert tomorrow, so no modelling then. Nor now, because kip time.

Would you know, we got more than a foot of snow anyway. Crap! Now I have to dig out the poor Jaguar and hope for the nice neighbour swishing by with his tractor and plow. If not, then there's some 450 m road to clear manually. Oh the joy..

Well, at least the PSR seems done on the Danish Hun, so next should be some pylons, a pitot and eventually the odd addition of a homemade LRMTS. If my undoubtedly aching limbs will allow such extravagances after the snow clearing.

Looking forward to seeing the c-97 build. Always liked those birds.

Snow, outright Siberian temperatures and more snow. In March. I feel betrayed.. 

Also quite some work this week, so not much modelling at all. The Hun is despite this inching closer to paint, but there's still some parts to attach and others to paint. But it'll happen when it happens.

Hey person, today I went to a job with my defender , normally my job is to drive the big trucks , but sometimes we need an additional car ( and I like to drive seperat also , no rubbish waiting and blahbla  .. )  , and so i start to take a trip  for lunch with a colleague over the snowy landscape east of the city. First corner behind the houses was to small for the Landy and we went into a field ... a deeeeep and wet Field     ,  This type of ground , together with rain is ALWAYS no good idea . And the driveway higher than the field doesn't make it better .

Needed 20 minutes to get out of the sticky stuff , everyone was dirt like a mole  , mud was up to the roof but a lot of fun , my friend was grown up in Namibia and  he knows what to do . At least the green brick crawled backwards up to the way ... 

Three days free now and start a new build for the 50's GB .

Here, currently, snow is the main problem. We had pretty wild scenes yesterday in Gothenburg where some people just didn't bother when one of the two main bridges over the river in Gothenburg got stuck just after opening, so they climbed and jumped the gap. Not that the gap was that wide, but still..

Over on my side, the east coast, we got another three inches of snow overnight, which is ridiculously annoying. Now I have to clear my entire driveway again.. The Landy won't mind, but the Jag does. Probably, I need another Landy, then..

Not much time for modelling today, it seems. Then again, the day isn't over just yet, and in lack of any meaningful way to indulge, I came to take out an old Heller SAAB A32A Lansen my dad build when I was a kid. Looking at it now, in particular when simultaneously looking at the Danish Super Sabre, wouldn't a Lansen had been a very nice allweather counterpart to the Hun in the darker Norwegian skies? Hmmm....
