VW Beetle is the most rubbish and useless car I have ever worked on . Total waste of space and materials .
It is crazy , but nearly  the half of my friends, who got real strong and old 4x4 cars Kübel up to giant KAT1 and Ural Trucks ....also got one of these automotive VW Toilets for their wifes . 


But a nice spitfire is not very expensive to drive , you can get  spare parts without problems, even like Land Rovers , and the whole construction is perfect for repairs.  But my wife got a sportscar with heated seats, so a spitfire wouldn't be a option

Yes, I am somehow on the lucky side , wife shares modelwork, plane spotting and very much the car and military meetings too .

The European Ford Capri was very popular during the 1980s, the RS and Ghia badges became the most sought after examples with the Essex 3 litre engines and later 3 litre Mk2s which can reach a speed of 140 mph in a straight line. There has been a lot of rumours that Ford has been working behind the scenes to produce an EV Capri as and when this will make it into the showrooms is debatable.

I'd love to see some of the extinct marques be resurrected- Nash, Studebaker, Packard

...but they would certainly return as Chinese brand zombies like MG or Bordward! 

I had a girlfriend who had a 3 litre Ford Capri, going round corners was fun 

I bet you ended up in her lap a few times, or vice versa...............

That brings me back to one absolut nice made German car from the 60's , the NSU 1000 C / TT / TTS  .
 I got a lot of them 30 years ago.
Great technic , absolut simple made, goes round corners like nothing else from that age .
Safety ? Who cares about them ...

I sat in one when they were new, and while I like(d) the Corvette-C3-esque front I was appalled by the shabby interior - plastic everywhere, crude fit, and a material that I expect from yoghurt cups.   Totally oversized price tag for this thing, too.

Someone tried that with Packard:



After acquiring the brand for $50,000 in 1992, Roy Gullickson and his team created a working prototype in 1999, dubbed the Packard Twelve.

Unfortunately, the plucky Gullickson and his company didn't succeed in finding investors to help him with $30 million for building circa 2,000 vehicles per year at $160,000 a pop by the end of 2010.
