- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Isn't the new tool 1/24 Spitfire manufactured in the UK ?

I'll check when I get home tomorrow, but I believe that's the case, yes.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Cheers Kit ?

By the way. The people who do the bookazine I got in Smiths yesterday on building the Buccaneer do one on the 1/24 Spit. Might be worth looking at next time you are in ?

Ooooh, I might do just that, thanks. It looks MEGA complicated from the look of the instruction sheet.  :-\

'Sheet' or 'Tome'?  ;)

PR19_Kit

Yeah, tome is about right, there's 277 construction steps!

fair few of the newest tools are. Including the new 24th Spit.
Some are still being made in India, I suspect Airfix pulled out of China for the most part a few years ago.

Well, moulded in the UK at any rate, but does anybody know where the moulds themselves
are cut?

Boss confirms that the tooling is made in China.

I think we should call time on adding comments to this video now folks: it's been up for over a week.

Latest IPMS magazine dropped through letter box yesterday afternoon, well actually my postie handed it to me, and there's a piece on the 1/24th Spitfire from initial design through to production.

The Wooksta!

Apparently the Mosquito PR16 is out, there are many for sale of the bay of E and someone on Facebook is salivating over his post war Tempest.

Quote from: Wardukw-NZ on March 03, 2023, 09:21:19 PMby some witch craft or fault in the time continuum a suggestion gets made it will be the price of the kit when it gets here.
Airfix are very near the top of the list here as the most expensive kits to buy.
We'll take a P-51 for an example..Tamiyas P-51D can be had for $50 or less..Airfix's is closer to $90nz ..Airfix's might be newer but it's 40 bucks more and 40 bucks is 40 bucks.
I am very excited by the work Airfix has been doing but the cost per kit in NZ had blown many of them out of the water for me - WNZ is dead on. There are UK-based sellers on TradeMe (our eBay clone) who offer free postage and are still somehow cheaper than NZ sellers. It's nuts.

One wants to support local businesses but when nearly half the price can be saved...
