Anecdotal evidence points out that wagon-drivers whipped the horses with their dominant right hand and thus sat most often on the left side of the carriage, therefore RHT would have made passing oncoming traffic easier.

Ancient Romans drove in the middle of the road whenever possible, but if the road was wide enough for two lanes, stayed to the right-hand side.

Fast forward to Early Modern times, there was no official ruling prior to the 18th century, in many places not even before the 20th.
LHT in the UK stems from London Bridge Act of 1765, "all carriages passing over the said bridge from London shall go on the east side thereof".
Around the same time, Sweden made LHT a law while Russia made the already established local practice of RHT into a law.
Austia-Hungary was LHT until its breakup when the successor states switched to RHT which was the standard by then.
Contrary to the urban legend, Napoleon did not change anything with his conquests, even France remained unstandardized at the time.

A small purchase: somebody sold (only) the decal sheet from a Special Hobby AH-1G, the kit with optional Spanish Navy markings. Since I recently had th inspiration to do a Spanish Navy Skyhawk, the markings might come in handy...   
Now I've got to find a cheap new-mold Airfix A-4B.

Beware of the clear parts - I have heard horrid thing about this kit from a primary source...

I've got a Mach 2 X-13 too, and it may appear in the 50s GB.

The canopy will need some SERIOUS polishing but I'm not sure how to do that on the inside as it's so tiny.

Doesn't look the best in the box but I'd heard horror stories about the X-3 as well but still got a fun build out of it. Not a stellar model but an entertaining diversion

Hobby Link Japan had a sale (including shipping - which was nice given its what usually stops me buying from them).

1/24 Cyber Formula car.  Full detail (including V12 engine and a driver figure) with a large number of body parts moulded in various coloured clear styrene.

And these two are new repops combining Revell Parts Packs into the complete cars they were designed to be and were once released as.  Both hard to find in their original (60's) forms.  Both 1/25.  Mooneyes dragster is one i've been after for a while.

The V-8 with the Potvin type front-mounted blower setup and cylindrical fuel tank was also used in
the Orange Crate kit.

The Mustang is pretty much 1/48 so will be getting a proper paint job and decals for a local machine, and man oh man is the (very close to 1/72) F-35 fun: opening fan doors, swivelling engine nozzle and removable landing gear. I expect it will do VERY good sales at UK airshows, it's so much fun!

The Tiger will be done as a friend's recently-restored example as a wedding gift (I'm about to start a model of her fiance's just-reflown-this-week Harvard to go with it).

Very cool gifts Zac..he's gonna love those for sure 

I received a second Zvezda 1/144 Tu-134 today.
I haven't built the first one yet but it looks so good in the box and I have plenty of ideas.

The Fire Scout boxing is, quite literally, two full kits, both of which can be built as either an early or late (radar) nosed variant. (So, you can have one of each type or two of one type). Detail looks excellent, & very crisp & clean moulding.



The Revell MAN 7T comes in a side-opening box (WHY?! ) with a lot of space around the sprues. Moulded in dark green it comes with a moulded soft cover for the cargo deck & vinyl tyres (will need to find some resin to replace those). I could see a fair amount of flash but not enough to make it look difficult to deal with. Detail is good.



The HobbyBoss MAN 7T comes with a lot more parts moulded in desert tan jammed into the top-opening box (Yay! ) & several small sheets of PE. From the looks of the parts & the instructions you should be able to build an unarmoured version of the 7T without too much trouble, as the armoured plates are add-ons to the basic truck. Mouldings look quite crisp & well detailed with no visible flash but also has vinyl tyres (more resin! ).



All up I'm happy with all of them but the Revell MAN 7T is beginning to show its 20+ years, while the HobbyBoss MAN 7T is still youthful at 5 years (I note HobbyBoss is expected to release a MAN 10T this year based on this kit) & the Takom kit is a Takom kit (ie: good) & a very new release.
